  1. Tom Barbara. He is my mechanic Paul. I will text you his number.
  2. Daiwa Heartland 8'6" rods with Daiwa Saltist 30 reels.

    Proper oil

Use straight 30 weight oil. They sell it at any auto parts store.
  4. 155 down over 325 off sandy two years ago in May.
  5. Awesome fish! Too bad no steelhead will place in the spring LOC.....
  6. I don't glue mine. I use a drill bit that is 1/32" smaller and tap them in with a rubber mallet. Only two out of 60 came out in 6 years.
  7. Atommik has them. Check out the site.
  8. Too big. They will hold a full core nicely. The saltist 30's fit a 1000' of wire perfectly.
  9. I heard about something like this on the Greece ponds too. Glad to see the DEC is out there doing what they re supposed to do. Hopefully they start caring more about the trout and salmon in the fall.
  10. Mitchel's bait and tackle has the best price on seagar that I have found. They have a few spin doctors, nk's and stingers but not the variety they have at other places like Narby's in oak orchard.
  11. When we took delivery of the kings at sandy last week, the DEC employee that delivered the fish told me that the fish were 3 weeks ahead. He said something about he last couple years they were a little smaller due to not eating for a while after going through the clipping trailer.
  12. What brand cowbells are you using? I run the hammerhead and they pull but not that bad. I actually believe that resistance causes less floater lakers. The resistance allows them to come up slower and release air from their air bladder. If it is not broke, don't try to fix it! Stick with what works.
  13. I'm in the process of modifying my clippers. I purchased a drop shot weight mold. A 3/8 oz weight is the perfect diameter to fit width wise in the back of the clipper. I will then cut it off with a dremal took and epoxy it in place. With power pro, the copper wire crimp and the added weight, they should really fly down the line.
  14. hammerhead tackle. Google hammerhead charters and tackle. You will find a cell number for Jim. Best cowbells out there. Jim has peanuts and spin n glows for sale too.
  15. I thought the same thing until I ran one off my 22' Starcraft stern drive. I have cannon riggers and extend the boom all the way out with no issues.
  16. 45 lb. I find my 300 and 500 are my top producers out of Sandy.
  17. If they were coming fron Caledonia, they were more than likely browns. Lakers are not raised at Caledonia.
  18. He would give you the shirt off his back but he never wears one. Sorry to see you are throwing in the towel on Lake O Ray. Good luck on your Florida adventures!
  19. Cool video. Looks like a Eastern European snagging drive in the Lake Ontario tribs in the fall!
  20. Careful doing that to the line guide, If you do it too much, it will tighten the line guide and wear out the worm gear. It works but don't over do it.
  21. Congrats on the trophy brown. Great way to start the season.
  22. The new Daiwa Seagate reel are awesome. The 6 to 1 gear ratio is going to change the attitude of my crew when it comes to running it.
  23. Thanks Bill. Dave is trying to promote the salmon more because he thinks he can draw more people to the derby. He also told me there was a push from a COUPLE west end charter captains. Look at his videos on his site and you can figure out who the bug is in his ear. I wish I still had his email from last year. It might be in my posts from last year in the tourney section. Another excuse was the lake trout fishermen are a small group of participants. IMO, they were guaranteed participants.
  24. Dave Chilson was sick of paying the same people over and over again is one of the reasons he stated in his email to me last year. Laker natural reproduction is not that great in the lake. The laker population is getting a 300,000 fish per year boost according to the DEC at the state of the lake meeting. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
