Im switching over all of my downrigger rods to Ugly Sticks (1101) this season. Running Ugly Sticks for copper rods really turned me on to them. They really deal with abuse well!

I wouldnt bother with leadcore unless you are fishing over 20 fow. 25' leaders of flouro

The answer to your question is a 450' copper setup. You can send it out on the boards (and get it away from the boat) and it will cover the depth your looking for with ease. It also offers a different presention to your existing set of divers and riggers. If you are currently running leadcore then running copper will be easy and at some point you may actually prefer to run copper over large segments of leadcore.

Theres is so much info on this site it will make your head spin. Take some time and read through old posts and im sure you will pick up a few things. Soon enough we will all be fishing and the reports will be rolling in pretty heavy from all around the lake and those should help also.
