  1. there is nothing in this world worse than a thief!
  2. i think its pretty common everywhere. at least until the buck reaches full maturity. i scored a buck last week and he grossed 125" and his brow tines were under 4".
  3. i believe the 1st and the 2nd pic are of the same deer (but you never know), the 2nd pic is of an 8 pt with some real potential, and the last pic is of a 10 pt (he does have brow tines they are only about 3" though). the time stamp is not correct, the time was off by 2 1/2 hours when i reset the camera.
  4. here's the link but there isnt dates posted yet. http://www.scottytournamentseries.com/series.html

  14. last winter the snow buried a ton of apples next to my barn. it brought a ton of visitors and in a month span i had well over 200 pics.
  15. in the woods typically you want to set them up slightly "quartering" a trail. it allows time for a digital camera to trigger before the deer are out of the shot. or you can also set the camera father back from the trail to allow a larger "shot" window. in a field i typically setup close to an entry trail but quartering into the field. i set mine for the fastest times you can set them, 2 or 3 shots at a time, and always high res. it may take a few attemps to get the camera position, location, and angle in the right spot. the majority of the pictures i get are junk. squirrels, rabbits, birds, half a deer body, etc.
  16. the only difference i know of is the one gambler stated. typically its much cheaper to just buy in bulk and purchase a spool of "line". i highly doubt that youll notice a difference in performance but you will notice a difference in price.
  17. most organizations believe that keeping smaller fish and throwing back "breeders" helps substain fish populations and keeps from overpopulating. just like whitetail deer management a number of animals must be "harvested" to keep the population healthy. over population causes the problem of too many fish and not enough cover, food , and/or predators, resulting in smaller, younger, geneticly inferior fish populations. (farm ponds are a perfect example of this) i guess if you treated a bass lake similar to quality deer manage property the results would be similar.
  18. i try to avoid catching them
  19. left the dock at 6 and headed for the shallows in search of some big guys. not much of a screen until 70-80 fow, so we set up there. its tough not to fish that water when it looks like that so we work that water for a couple of hours with only one king for our effort. tough fishing inside so we turned north and headed for 300 fow. started finding some bait and some hooks about 315-340 fow. 325 seemed to be our best depth and for next 2 hours manage to boat 2 more kings and 1 small bow, and we also dumped 3 others. nk nbk and stinger nbk 40-90' on the riggers and we also did one fish on the 240 wire with a green on white spin doctor w/green fly.
  20. i use atommic's fly box for fully rigged flies. http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/flybox.htm keeps everthing nice and organized. the top gives you a spot to keep extra hooks and the top tray gives you a spot for leader material, beads, etc.
  21. good to hear the car ride was worth it. jay and his wife are good peeps and that jerry guy is ok too.
