  1. Minimum 13lb torpedos for that depth. You will still get a lot of blowback if you are trying to reach 120ft deep. I would go with the 15lb torpedos. Brian
  2. Retsy, honestly I am suprised someone told you not to let the copper bend in the tip. I have been doing it for years on my chute rod like Legacy does. I know a lot of other fisherman who do also. Brian
  3. Retsy, I understand your reasoning for adding the mono but the copper weakening at the rod tip really isn't an issue. Varying the length of copper you let out to achieve a certain depth is a very common method. Brian
  4. Put a piece of electrical heat shrink tubing every 100 ft on the copper. Have one piece at 100' two pieces at 200' etc. Brian
  5. My son and I are planning on going to Pete's seminar tomorrow. His seminar last year was very informative. Brian
  6. I'm with Gambler. The Otter boats with double keel pull hard and handle the waves. Brian
  7. Thanks guys for your input! I think I am going to try the Star Bright and then use a carpet steam cleaner to complete the cleaning. Brian
  8. I took the cover off my boat and noticed there is dark stains in the carpet inside my cuddy which I am assuming is mold. Does anyone have an idea for removing the moldy stains? Brian
  9. What are you fishing for; browns, salmon?
  10. I ran the holders Trolling Keuka is talking about all last season and they worked flawlessly. They have unlimited adjustment. The only complaint I have is that I wish the rod holders were on the back side of the rigger. Brian
  11. Leave your prop alone and put drift bags out. It's cheaper than a new prop and you won't lose any top end. They also help stabilize the boat when it gets rough. Brian
  12. Try Tuna Tom's. That's where I buy all my reel parts. http://stores.tunasreeltroubles.com/-st ... gories.bok Brian
  13. I bought mine from A-Tom-Mik. Brian
  14. Boat em and bleed em! I bleed all my fish unless it's tournament time. I cut their gills and drag them behind the boat for approx. 10 minutes then they go on ice. Brian
  15. I leave my kicker on for the winter. It wouldn't be hard to take the kicker off. There are (if I remember correctly) 2 lines going to the kicker; one goes to a spark plug and the other goes to the throtte. The hydraulic cylinder is held on with 2 clips and can be removed in a few seconds. No need to open a hydraulic line. Hope this helps. Brian
  16. I personally haven't had to add fluid to my unit other than when I moved it from one boat to another. As for the remote, my remote is not wireless. I remember the wireless option was a bit expensive and I felt (and still feel) it wasn't worth the extra money. I have it mounted with velcro from a post on my hardtop.
  17. I did my own installation and it was fairly straight forward. Calibrating the unit is easy and only takes a few minutes. I run all my electronics (X-4, fishfinder, GPS & radio) and don't have any problems with the kicker keeping everything charged. I don't do anything special with the batteries. Brian
  18. I have the TR-1 on my Honda 9.9 and love it. The only problem I've had with it was a broken compass which I think I broke switching it from my old boat. The only time I don't use the TR-1 is when the lake is rough. I've never heard anyone be dissappointed with the TR-1. Brian
  19. Redneck mouse trap: 5 gallon bucket with 3 inches of antifreeze in it. Drill 2 holes on opposite sides of the top of the bucket. Get a beer can and drill a hole in the center of the top and bottom of the can. Run a wire through the beer can and then through the drilled holes in the bucket and secure. The beer can should be centered in the bucket and able to spin. Put peanut butter on the beer can. When the mice step on the can to eat the peanut butter, they fall in and die. The antifreeze preserves them and there is no smell of rotting mice. Brian
  20. If you are talking about Frank Geis, his father runs Trophy Nuts Charters. You can contact him via email. http://trophynutssportfishing.com/ Brian
  21. The problem with bearing buddies is a lot of times people overgrease their bearings and blow out the seal on the back side of the hub. Did you ever see grease on the inside of your trailer fenders? If so, you probably over greased the bearing buddies. I do run bearing buddies but I only add grease to them during my initial installation. Brian
  22. I had this emailed to my yesterday. Just another reminder why we need to control their population!!!
  23. Tim, The Lakeview motel is more boat friendly than Youngstown motel and caters more to the fisherman. I've stayed at both. Brian
