  1. Keep in mind this is only for the western region. Central and Northern regions are still 7 rounds or less. KEEP UP THE FIGHT!!!!!
  2. I agree with T Luck its a tag and call situation. They will give you a new tag. It happens all the time.
  3. I cant wait for that week in May! Nowhere else in the Great Lakes is there that much money on the line in 7 days! The Slam, the 1K, the LOC and the WHI thats gotta be close to 100k up for grabs!!
  4. Let me play devils advocate here. I hear what your saying but let me pose this. Gill-T your on fish in Canada so you spend the money to do it legally. You go thru the effort to follow the rules. A competitor gets on fish a half mile over the border and beats you and you know he doesnt have a lic or go thru the proper channels to fish there. Your cool with getting beat by someone who broke rules but not tourney rules? How do you prove he was over there? Trust me I understand your frustrations with eyes on the paper work. I am just poising something that would be hard to prove. Its not like there is a big line for the untrained observers to see on the water. Then there is the issue with Observers what if the guy you get doesnt have a passport or an enhanced drivers lic. Now what are you going to do as a capt you cant go across. If you have to land in an emergency situation you must have your proper documentation. Let me say again I am just playing devils advocate and giving you some scenarios.
  5. Join us tomorrow night at the Salmon River Hatchery for our October meeting at 7pm. We will have our election of officers and a chat with some of our Hatchery and Regional Fishery Managers about what is happening currently with egg take and return. See you all then!

  11. You should have come to me before posting this! LOL! It is a smoking chip on our boat for the last 2 years. Really want to make it fly put a hammer behind it and dont walk away from the rod... We have since had some custom chips made with the green dots on both sides you will see in Fat Nancys next year. I suggest you guys buy them.
  12. Yes you heard correct! The 14th at Gander Mountain in Cicero at 7pm. We moved it so it would not conflict the LOC derby! We will have a round table discussion on Fall King fishing! See you all then!
  13. Super Clean boat! Good Luck with the sale!
  14. He is a Lurker!!
  15. Notice- If there is a small craft advisory posted on Saturday the derby is cancelled. The picnic will proceed as planned. Looking forward to it as this will be yet another record setting year with over 160 people attending! See you all Saturday.
  16. I think Horsin Around made his point here. He had a team mate spout off above who really doesnt understand the game and probably never will. I respect Horsin Around a great deal it is unfortunate he had a team mate who doesn't get it... Congrads go out to the Trout One team on there win by the way! Jim and crew have now won that tourney 3 times!
  17. Nearly all major claims to boat insurance require a surveyor to look prior to a check being cut. I am not suprised that they did not cover this. It is unfortunate that you had such a tight time line. Did they not supply you with a direct number to claims? I know with my insurance company for my boat with 2 claims I was in contact with them within an hour of the incedent and had surveyors present in less then 12 hours in both cases that included something that happened on a sunday morning. Tough break for you.
  18. I have gone to Lithium Batteries in my hawk and my depth raider. It is the way to go. I can fish 18 to 20 days on a set.
  19. A big Thanks goes out to Capt. Vince and his mate NIck for the seminar on Wednesday night! If you werent there you missed a good one!
  20. If you have a chair please bring it! See you all at 7 tonight!
  21. Thanks Guys! We had a little luck on our side and only dropped one fish all weekend. We figured out the bite times during practice and it took some faith to stick to it. During practice on friday the kings didnt realy start biting until 930. We drove away from them biting still at 1130 so I wasnt 100 percent sure how long the bite lasted. Saturday morning we rolled out to find them still there in 140-220. At 8:45 we had only had 2 in the box. At 9:15 we doubled on majors and the flood gates opened. We then beat on them until we finished at 1215. Lucky for us the "fleet" moved off in search mode and we hung tight thinking they would bite at some point. 400 Blood Run Coppers and 30lb Blood run wires were studs! Junk rods took 95% of our fish over the weekend. We had a 320 point box after the first day and were sitting in 2nd place. Sunday morning it took us an hour or so to find that the fish had moved further north to about 300ft of water. Our bite actually started right away on Sunday as we found them. We took 2 right away then tripled and on the return pass took 2 more. Then it quit! We went dry for over 2 hours but I thought they would bite again. We took one more at 10:45 and I called it to go get 4 Brown trout. We picked and ran into Brown water and did 4 in about 25 minutes to finish our box at 12:25 for the day. Again for the kings 400 Blood Run Coppers and 30lb Blood run wire were king. This was also the first real experience with the 30lb Sea Flea line from Blood Run and it was awesome almost no fleas to speak of. Good Luck to Everyone going to Sodus!
  22. Yes Greg you are spot on! Thanks to all who helped bring the Oswego Pro-Am back to its original format! You all worked tirelessly to see it happen. Very well run. Team Tall Tails Brian
  23. This should be a great seminar! Probably the first ever from inside a boat.
  24. 1200 is way to high to troll and there is no need for bags. Get your carbs tuned to idial at 600 when in gear. To many mechanics will tune at the dock. A baha trolls at 600 to 850. I use one bag occasionally. And 2 bags only brown trout fishing. Feel free to pm me I have run a Baha for awhile now.
  25. Eastern Lake Ontario Salmon and Trout Association (ELOSTA) is proud to be hosting Captain Vince Pierleoni of Thrillseeker Sportfishing Charters at its next monthly meeting and seminar to present on boat rigging tips and layout. This is a great opportunity for anyone who fishes Lake Ontario, any of the Finger Lakes, or other water body that involves trolling as an angling approach. With the resurgence of interest in Great Lakes trolling and in particular, the Lake Ontario Salmon fishery, Capt Vince Pierleoni has seen a need for boat rigging clinics. Capt Vince, a twenty-nine year full time professional charter boat operator, has rigged eight different vessels for Lake Ontario trolling. Most recently, Capt Vince rigged a twenty-four footer primarily for tournament fishing. It was while rigging this trailerable boat that he had the idea of sharing what he has learned through trial and error and experience with other anglers. Whether you are an experienced troller looking to fine tune rigging or a newbie looking to avoid expensive mistakes, there is something for you. Some topics covered include downrigger placement and mounting, rodholder placement and mounting for storage, planer boards, divers, planer board rigging options, electronics choices, electronics helm station placement, transducer choices and placement, and speed control tools and others. How all of this can be done on various size and style boats will also be addressed. This clinic on July 17 will be held outdoors from the boat, it will be held at the Mexico VFW on Route 3 at 7:00PM. This is a rain or shine event as there is shelter available. This clinic is free of charge and all anglers are encouraged to attend.
