8'3" Ugly stick light action downrigger rods.
Tough and the action is just right for Browns, Steelies, Cohos and will hold up to the occasional, accidental King taken while Brown fishing.
Good luck.

Took a King about 7 or 8 years ago with a very green back Ace fishing a pro/am out of Sodus.
Fish was about 18 lbs and about maybe 67 of 7 miles west of port.

Wieght of the motor should be a consideration in your decision.
That said I've never heard anybody complain because they were over powered.
Put on the largest hp rating that your boat will support the weight of.
I would guess about an 8 hp.
Four strokes are nice.
Good luck

Simrad was bought out a couple years after I bought my AP.
The AP 12 was discontinued and about a year later the 14 was also dropped.
Prior to that the customer service was second to none.
Dam shame because the units were reasonably priced and performed great.
Nope. Between me and Hank we searched alot.
Nobody can get parts.
I'm in the process of buying a new AP.
Shame because that AP held my coarse into anything, but thats what it is.
Good luck

Got a couple Blue Diamond roller rods for the wire and they are OK.
Also have a couple Blue Diamond regular guide dipsy rods and they are great for the money, and have good action for smaller sized Finger Lakes fish.
I run Braid on these with Slide Divers.

I had a 17 1/2 ft Starcraft with a 90 merc.
Tried a couple different ones and ended up with the Happy troller with the hinged plate.
Took care of all my trolling speed issues especially trolling with a stiff wind.
Bad news is more fuel consumption because you have to keep your rpms up but worth it.
The hinged plate allows you to avoid damge when you take off and forget to put the plate up.
You will realize it's down before you break anything.
Good luck

Thanks for the link.
I've been running Ande for a lot of years and don't have any reason to switch.
For flasher and flys I run 40 lb pink.
For spoons and plugs I run 30 lb clear with a 20 lb test floro leader.
This is on my salmon gear.
I run the pink and clear so I can run down into the cabin and grab a rod I need out of the pile without screwing around.
