  1. Nice job getting your father out and hookin a couple fish for him. Good fishing Glen
  2. 8'3" Ugly stick light action downrigger rods. Tough and the action is just right for Browns, Steelies, Cohos and will hold up to the occasional, accidental King taken while Brown fishing. Good luck. Glen
  3. Yup. Long as they are the big ones. Why mono backing on copper? Braid is nice. Good luck Glen
  4. Took a King about 7 or 8 years ago with a very green back Ace fishing a pro/am out of Sodus. Fish was about 18 lbs and about maybe 67 of 7 miles west of port. Glen
  5. I went with a Si-tex that I can adapt to my existing Simrad pump.
  6. Found this picture LOL
  7. Nice fish for sure Jim. Hope all is well eith you. Glen
  8. Nope. Have run them in 15 deg temps with 20 mph NW winds and no problems.
  9. Wieght of the motor should be a consideration in your decision. That said I've never heard anybody complain because they were over powered. Put on the largest hp rating that your boat will support the weight of. I would guess about an 8 hp. Four strokes are nice. Good luck Glen
  10. I sent you a PM with instructions. Hope all is well Stan.
  11. Simrad was bought out a couple years after I bought my AP. The AP 12 was discontinued and about a year later the 14 was also dropped. Prior to that the customer service was second to none. Dam shame because the units were reasonably priced and performed great.
  12. Nope. Between me and Hank we searched alot. Nobody can get parts. I'm in the process of buying a new AP. Shame because that AP held my coarse into anything, but thats what it is. Good luck Glen
  13. Nice Dave Glen
  14. Thanks Guys. I appreciate the good wishes.
  15. I have both and prefer the convectors.
  16. Got a couple Blue Diamond roller rods for the wire and they are OK. Also have a couple Blue Diamond regular guide dipsy rods and they are great for the money, and have good action for smaller sized Finger Lakes fish. I run Braid on these with Slide Divers. Glen
  17. I don't think you will use much more fuel with a plate than you use with two bags.
  18. I had a 17 1/2 ft Starcraft with a 90 merc. Tried a couple different ones and ended up with the Happy troller with the hinged plate. Took care of all my trolling speed issues especially trolling with a stiff wind. Bad news is more fuel consumption because you have to keep your rpms up but worth it. The hinged plate allows you to avoid damge when you take off and forget to put the plate up. You will realize it's down before you break anything. Good luck Glen
  19. Sorry to hear of your loss Ray. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family Glen
  20. Guys I need a computer for an older Simrad AP 12H. Anybody got one for sale? Thanks Glen
  21. I got bullets before every line of text on the last post and know there is a line going through the center of the text. Ummmm.
  22. About 2 ft here in West Springfield MA Really sucks Glen
  23. Thanks for the link. I've been running Ande for a lot of years and don't have any reason to switch. For flasher and flys I run 40 lb pink. For spoons and plugs I run 30 lb clear with a 20 lb test floro leader. This is on my salmon gear. I run the pink and clear so I can run down into the cabin and grab a rod I need out of the pile without screwing around.
  24. Congratulations!!! I just started a new job today and ten more years I'm otta there. New job, same old sh_t different place. Glen
