  1. I have known more than one teacher in my past I would not want see packing a water pistol let alone a 9 MM. We have terrorists, racists and deviates teaching in our University's for Christ sakes. Society needs to get back to the morals and values it once considered important before this type of action will decline. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Glen
  2. Thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and young innocent lives that were lost today. Such an in despicable act of evil, caused by such a sick twisted scumbag. What has society come to !? Glen
  3. Nice Paul Glen
  4. I find running 4 weights of the same design avoids issue as they will all track identical. Some guys like the finned pancake weights on the sides but I have had nightmares running them in strong sub surface currents and now use them to hold the top down on a storage box under the camper. You should be all right running two torpedoes on the sides. I didn't find much of an improvement from the 12's to the 15's on the Torpedo weights. They are 2 lbs heavier but also have a bigger profile moving through bthe water. Glen
  5. Love my outboards Jeff. One big one for getting to the fish and one little one for fishing, less fuel consumption, to keep hours of the expensive big one and as an emergency 2nd motor. Which ever way you go, keep in mind I've never heard anybody complain about being over powered. LOL Good luck Glen
  6. You should be fine with your layout. I run my side riggers deeper than the corners without any issues off an 8 ft beam. Just got to make sure the rod man works the fish off the side until it is out and above the higher corner rigger. Then they can move and play them off the back of the boat. Just personal preference I guess. Good luck Glen
  7. You can't beat the Torpedoes for tracking unless you want to go to the high dollar Shark weights. Four 12 lb Atomic torpedoes is all I run and have fished as deep as 225 down with them. Shallow water Brown fishing in early spring I run 10 lb finned balls because they are less likley to dig into the rocks than the torpedoes pointed nose. Those two sets of weights cover all my fishing needs. Good luck. Glen
  8. Salmon only tournamnents are good. Untill you have a couple of seasons when there are no or very few Salmon in the area to chase. Then you are talking burning a whole lotta fuel.....Ouch. Glen
  9. Nice job lumberman. Did you get any water temps? Glen
  10. Hope everybody has a safe and happy Thankgiving. Glen
  11. Happy Birthday Musky Have a great one. Glen
  12. I got to put together a couple of lead core rods for next spring. What reels are you core guys running for 2 colors. What about backing? Thanks Glen
  13. If you are replaceing the drag washers with the original type, they are reffered to as "wet" and you should use Shimano drag washer grease. From what I heard you can get replacement drag washers from Tuna Tom and I believe they are supposed to be run dry. I've never used those but think I will give them a try on one reel when I need to replace the originals. Good luck Glen
  14. I use small beads. I don't use the larger size to avoid adding weight to the fly. Glen
  15. Happy Birthday Big Dave. Hope it's a great one. Glen
  16. Happy Birthday Pete. Hope it's a great one. Glen
  17. Mikes Marina on the Little Salmon river. A lot of the Oswego guys go there. Glen
  18. I made SURE the tanks for the boat are full and the truck has a full tank also. Can always go fishin without electricity and the fish don't care if there is no power. Trout is delicious on the gas grill or open flame. Glen
  19. No, I'm not still trolling but yes, you can catch Browns and Steel in the lake now. 2 year old Salmon out in deeper water as well. I used to leave the boat in into Nov. This tiime of year is you actually have to fish for them. No more driving to the pack of boats to get on fish. Also make dam sure you have a fool proof method of communication and your boat is in perfect mechanical condition as more than likely you will be alone out there and help is not easy to find. Good luck Glen
  20. Take it to Hank!!!
  21. If your having trouble with the stop beads sliding, and you are sure your putting them on correctly, try using two right next to each other and actually touching each other. On the heavier cable, once they slide aways they are pretty much worn out at that point and need replacing. If you are sliding them on the cable to adjust the location, that will creat your problem. Take them off and put them back on to make adjustments. Glen
  22. Bingo!!! Combat fishing is no place for long coppers or leadcore. You want to run them fine. Your responsability to keep them out of harms way. Nobody elses. 100 + boats working a small area at times, all have the same right to that water. Nobody is special enough to take up a football field or more of that water. Most Captains are very respectful of other boats and most have a lot of experience and know how to fish in those conditions. Good fishing. Glen
  23. Help us out old timer. Post up or email me a picture of the sticks and flashers. Also might be interested in some fly rods. Thanks Glen
  24. See if you can get a fine stone or an abrasive rubber bit to fit in your roto tool, or as suggested use sandpaper. Depending on how rough it is, sandpaper could take awhile. A fine jewlers file would work also. I used a pointed carbide burr when I did mine and they came out good. Make sure you move the tool in the direction of rotation and not against it to get a better finish. Don't know if you can get wider ones from Okuma but it might be worth a call to them. Good luck Glen
  25. Thanks for the information Brian. Hope you guys are well and have a great winter. Glen
