  1. The net pens for Sodus Bay will be put together and set in the water Monday, April 22, 2013 at 9:30 AM. All helpers are welcome, and we do need help. We will meet at Hollingsworth"s Fabrication barn on Margaretta Road, off Rt. 14, first left turn past Arney's Marina going north. The pens will be put together and moved to Arney's and set in the water. The fish are expected soon so this must get done. It should take no more than an hour or two with enough help. Please try and lend a hand if you have time. Thanks
  2. I'm sure Tom Frank from Capt. Jack's will do big fish Friday again this year as he has in the past. Everyone seems to be good with that. I'll confirm it this weekend. Troy has enough on his plate already.
  3. So there you go Rich. Break out that checkbook....
  4. Thanks for the update Chad. You are definately "the man" when it comes to this site. And thank you for the continued efforts you put in to make this forum the best around. The best of the holidays to you and your familt also.
  5. A day you will never forget. Nor will the boys.
  6. Still here, you can't get rid of me that fast. Just got rid of extra stuff
  7. It's done. And thanks to all that took the time to stop by. All fishing gear was sold.
  8. Downsizing and moving, several landing nets, hundreds of spoons, plugs, flashers, some electronics, several boxes of accessories, odds and ends. Mostly trout and salmon gear. But lots of light tackle rods and reels also, fly rods and reels. All good stuff, not junk. Something for everyone. 1276 Plank Rd., Walworth. Between Lincoln Road and Rt. 350. August 9-10-11, 9 til 4. Plus several other items, hunting gear and clothing; furniture; toys; tools, old and new; yard equiptment; cement mixer & tools; you name it. All in great shape. All must go.
  9. I run 8 of them on my boat in the spring, and 2 or 3 later in the season. They are great, easy to install and use, and customer service is the best if needed. .
  10. Great, and thanks for what you and others are doing for our veterns. I would join you, but we are booked for a trip Saturday.
  11. I talked to CHRIS Kenyon, Not Nick Kenyon, from Wayne County Tourism today and he is on vacation Saturday. He said if he was here (he will be in the 1000 Islands) he would love to video it. He also stated he will contact you to do a story on if. Some photos would also help. He does alot more for our fishery than most people know. Good guy to have on our side. And by the way, he only works part time for Tourism. Best of luck to all who fish it tomorrow, especially the veterns.
  12. Rod, You do not know how cool it was watching those "boys" handle everything at the weigh-in. And what perfect gentlemen they were. It's great seeing our youth enjoy such a good sport. Keep up the good work. I'm told that a photo of them will be on the Pro-Am web site soon. Good fishing.
  13. Several observers are needed for the Pro-Am this weekend. If your interested, call Chris Kenyou @ 315-879-1341. Good way to learn some new tricks and have a fun day on the water. No specific talents needed, just be honest and dependable. And for your info, 38 pro division, 20 open division. Always a great time at Sodus Point. Thanks to all the participants.
  14. The entry money, in the case of a blow off, will be held over to next year ONLY in the PRO DIVISION. In the OPEN DIVISION, and your fishing both days, if Saturday is a blow-off day, the money will be moved to Sunday. If both days are a blow-off, names will be drawn for the winners. If you are only fishing one day in the OPEN DIVISION, and get blown off, a drawing will be held for that day only. Please try to remember, this is the first year for this tournement with the new format. Several bugs are still being worked out. Mostly in the OPEN DIVISION. The bottom line, as in past tournements, the Tournement Director has the last and final say. And for those of you that have fished the Wayne County Tournement at Sodus Point in the past, you know that we go out of our way to run a fair and honest tournement. And we will continue to do so with the new format. Good fishing to all.
  15. You will find a mixed bag, along with some great salmon fishing in August at Sodus Point. This year has been crazy with kings since spring. And on a better note, no in-laws. Enjoy!
  16. Not sure, but I would guess starting next week. See Tammy or Tom Frank, the owner. They will have the forms. All forms must be in by 6:00AM Friday, July 20th. I'll have further info on it by this weekend. And remember, you DO NOT have to be entered in the Pro-Am to fish "Big Fish Friday".
  17. The weigh-in station for all boats in the Pro-Am at Sodus Point will be under the large tent located between Abe's Waterfront and Captain Jack's Good Time Tavern. The same location as in years past. The time for the weigh-in for OPEN DIVISION will begin at 11:00 AM, and you MUST be in line by 12:30 PM.
  18. You can also try lakeontariocharterboatassociation.com. Several good captains along the lake.
  19. If anyone fishing the Sodus Point Pro-Am needs lodging, this just came up. Cottage on Rt. 14, 1 mile from the Point. Has 8 beds, A.C. , full kitchen, parking. Available from Thursday 7-19 thru Monday 7-23. I have been in this cottage and it's very clean. Contact Russ Hacker at 315-651-0841
  20. Tom Frank, owner of Captain Jack's in Sodus Point has ran Big Fish Friday the past few years. I'm sure he will do it the same this year.
  21. They know about the problem with the paint. Several years ago I sent back a half dozen spoons to their main office explaining the problems we were having with them. And I did get a response, "if you don't like them, use something else".
  22. Sodus Point will receive there pen rearing fish, 50,000 chinooks, Monday, 4-23-2012, at Arney's Marina on route 14 @ 11:30 A.M. Some help would be well received. Come and find out what it is all about.
  23. Capt. Bill, It was always nice to see you near or around the big lake. But sometimes priorities must prevail. And that's very understandable. My son is 40, and I think, where did the time go. The good news, now he's mating for me on the boat . You have been, and I'm sure will always be, a great promoter of the fishery on Lake Ontario. You and your boy's are always welcome aboard the Get-A-Way to fish the big lake out of Sodus Point.
  24. I have eight Bert's on my boat. Would not change. Had a problem with one after two years, called the factory, sent me a brand new one, no questions asked. Now that's service.
