Funny how things come together. I'm heading to Hornell NY today to the funeral of another hero Marine, Zack Smith. Killed last weekend in our current conflict. He was one week on patrol, 19 yrs. old, married his childhood sweetheart last July. I was a short-timer and came home in Dec. 67 before our division (24 Infantry)was sent there.Welcome home to you all.

Rich, You are totally right about the rehab facility at St. Mary's Hospital. They DO work miracles. You mentioned the city cop that got shot. I have had several contacts with Officer DiPonzio and you could not believe how far they have brought him back. It's a long process but there is light at the end of the tunnel from what you have stated. Call Charlie Greer at CG Buffalo fingerprint office. He came to Summerville Station for us and it went real smooth. License was renewed in less than two months. Dane

Stan, They are a great team and have won several tournaments throughout the years. Are their ideas much different than yours on the west coast? Ours are about the same as theirs. And PS I think Ray is alittle grumpy today. I hope he gets into a better mood soon..Dane

Fishfearme, You need it if you have a charter license, or are a truck driver, or have access to ports of call. Part of Homeland Security's new policy. And yes Tim that is what it stands for, but I could call it a few other things... DB

After just going thru both processes, license renewal and TWIC card I can tell you this. As of now, neither group even recognizes each other. Homeland Security and Coast Guard do their own thing. No where in the license renewal process does it even mention TWIC cards(although it was excepted as a form of ID). That may all change after April 15 ???? No one has a definite answer. And John is right, our congress people are concerned with much greater thing right now than TWIC cards. I don't see it changing with their help. Do what you think is right for you, but I wouldn't count on grace periods or lack of enforcement when it does go into effect.
