There are serious rocks to the left of the break wall channel. ( when coming in , or to starboard going out ) They are usually marked with buoys. I haven’t launched at Mexico yet this year so I don’t know if the buoys are in or not. I DO know you don’t want to get into those rocks. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Genny quick trip 7/9
chinook35 replied to zach's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
We would see that first hand at our camp on Sandy pond. We had the pond in the back and the lake in the front. Go swimming in the evening on the lake side. Water like bath water Get up the next morning and jump in for an eye opener. And it definitely was an eye opener. Went from 70’s to low 50’s. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

Did the insurance company take your title when they paid your claim ? If not , you should still have the original title in your name Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Finally done I decided to fix things that weren’t broke. At least when I started. When will I learn ? New gimbal bearing , new u-joints , all new bellows , decided to replace lower shift cable , bought cheap on-line Chinese cable kit , my bad , way too much drag , couldn’t adjust to make shift interrupt work, ordered OEM , change cable ,AGAIN. Now works as advertised took to Magee Canvas for new top and side curtains Just got done outfitting with gear. Hope to get out this week. Looks like it’s starting to turn on. Transducer Cone Angle
chinook35 replied to invasahata's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Watching your weights and baits on your sonar can be misleading. The fish on your screen are at the depths on your screen ( usually ) if they are directly under your boat. Your weights and baits are NOT at the depth on your screen. They are at that DISTANCE from your transducer. Fish the marks Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

From the Sandy pond channel maintenance association: NY Marine Services have pulled all the buoys in the channel until a permanent solution can be found we will not be able to get a channel marked even if we dredge a full channel at the required 4’. We need people to share this information and to contact elected officials if this makes you angry or upset. SPCMA has always tried to maintain a channel by themselves and the help of the Town of Sandy Creek - At this time State and Federal funding is desperately needed!!! Future dredging could place sand on the North and South alternating … Dredge before April 1 st and in the Fall … get as much sand out of the channel and pond as we can. Place sand on private lands to the North and South. This ultimately will restore the barrier beach that protects the pond. We will be getting a form letter out for people to send. The 4 th of July is fast approaching and we need people to know there are no markers out there except for the rocks pile on the lakeside. Boat safely and have have a great weekend. Be careful using the inlet very shallow and now unmarked by buoys Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

He pled guilty and now comes the sentencing. He pled guilty to a felony and deserves more than a slap on the wrist as a felon he can no longer own or use firearms. And his guiding days should be over Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

sliding cheaters
chinook35 replied to kempie's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Unless the cheater spoon is fixed it will continue to slide down your main line until it reaches the main line release. I pop my main out of the release and let it float up without reeling. Generally misses the free slide cheater. I have also had hits as main is rising in the water column Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
I hope not 12# pancake weights. They take on a life of their own in currents. I had a pair of 13# pancakes. Sat in my cellar for years finally sold them hope the new owner knows lots of swear words Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

More input. Lol. What weights are you running on your riggers. Wire dipseys? Do you tangle only on a single course or any course Speed ? Boat handling is a big factor in preventing tangles. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
