There is nothing better than hearing my beagles or any hounds for that matter screaming on the trail. We shot 17 brown ones yesterday in just a half day with my one dog. ( the other has a lame leg right now) I am always sad to see the season end every year. I will go shoe hunting a couple more times this year before that ends. Then comes fishing.

What are the 2013 proam dates??
brucehookedup replied to brucehookedup's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
Thanks vince, sodus is the one that works the best for me. I have always enjoyed the west tourneys in the past but buisness keeps me home, which is a good thing. Sounds like ther is alot of interest in continuing the event. I did not know that the pro-am bailed out of wayne county. The reason why? -
Hey rich, i went to check out my boat and hit the pier at irondequoit. I talked with a guy who spoke to you on your way in. I figured it was you and he told me of your bites. Upon hearing that i stayed there for a full 15 minutes and went to shippies to see what was going on. The water is as shallow as i have EVER seen it,WOW! The zebra shells washed up on the shore there were at least 4 if not 5 feet deep, ungodly. Took a few casts, no bites and left. If we have to deal with this scary low water i am going to buy stock in prop shops and lure companys.

Excluding this sporadic bite on salmon in front of the genny this mid to late september i would DEFINATELY say this was the best year i have seen in 28yrs of chartering. I am talking numbers, size, availability to species, and overall wind and currents. I believe the people out there caught wind of this, cause my trips were up a little bit. When its good, its all good. 2 trips left, then its time for fur and feathers.

So i go out on my charter 8/31 in the am get my rigs and divers in, put out the otter board, go to grab my 450 copper, and somebody grabbed before me. I dont mean my clients, i mean some a;;hole took it. I used it on the evening charter the day before. They stole it that night after 9:30 when my people left. This is the second time in a year we ( my dock neighbor ) have been ripped off. We have gate at the dock, lights, people who live on their boats near us. I think they came by water and knew what they wanted. Equipment can be replaced which sucks, but i feel so violated its bull;;it. I am going for a security system, and hook the boat up to 220 electric and look for ashes in the morning. BASTARDS!!!!

This a tone on it as well as 6 levels of stimulation. You can have up to 6 dogs on it at once, and it works for a mile or so. This is the most popular unit sold. Call bruce with questions 585-750-3164. I want 350$ firm. This unit sells for just under 500$

Is that a massive algae bloom going on in the rochester area only??? I have seen simular blooms in the past, but not this large and different in color and hanging around big time. I hope it stays when the sharks move in. Is this everywhere?? I have not made to many phone calls to find out,,,,, interesting. This is definately different.

I have i ideas where i want to fish every day, BUT mother nature tells YOU where to fish. Its all about wind and currents, i would dare to say 70% of fishing is knowing this. -

Rochester fishing has been the best i have seen in my 28yrs of running charters. Awesome and then some, it doesnt matter if you fish for browns in the short water or the steelhead and kings in the mid to deep water or looking for lakers to have fun with, rochester has been kicking butt. We had a upwelling lately and the cold water has moved inside and up high in the deep water. The kings are scatterd from 60ft to 660ft along with the steelhead. Browns right now are in 30 to 70ft. Good luck, by the way rochester is kept quiet because we like that way. -

I think the the thoughts of fishermen who participated in the pro/am are important. Maybe somebody with importance will see this and make something happen. Keep it going guys, i am on the same page as captain matt said, freedom of speech. -

I agree with gill-t as well. You tried, it did not work as well as planned, no biggie it happens everyday in this world. Forget the 'open', short box, long box, classic box. The old pro/am format was the best, with no communication. Dont forget the big fish for each day no matter pro or am. -

That what it all comes down to rick, OUR tournament. Dump the counties, set up the rules as they were, and giddy up.
