  1. What brand wire? I have recently had some bad luck with the normally reliable Malin brand where one of the strands seemed to be not integrated within the other six strands of wire making it rough on the guides and easier to unravel.
  2. Great content as always Dan
  3. My subtroll lasted almost a decade. With no competition in the temp and speed game, let’s hope they don’t get complacent with customer service or start jacking up prices.

  5. With the strong Easterlies we have had, he may be in Canadian waters
  6. Most of the county was iced out after 1.5 days of 30 mph NE winds. The fish ended up at the bar. How quickly it will reset is up to the winds. Based on warming trend, it will be changing daily. By Tuesday I would think Wilson would be coming back on line. The fish are coming out of winter pattern and mostly have empty stomachs. They are hungry and moving to find any alewives that move in. There are some smelt and emeralds around but the bait migration inshore has been delayed due to crap weather and consistent Easterly winds which have a cooling affect. If I was fishing Tuesday, I would be trailering to the bar.
  7. Tim, what do you attribute their size to? Eggs alone or were they loaded with gobies?
  8. Wait…..what ha-ha happened? I thought you like trolling in 30’ by the Genny??😀
  9. I have thought about. And then thought about it some more. This a back door way that is used by the anti-hunting crowd. There is no science behind it.
  10. This is an anti-hunting bill. You can’t use lead for waterfowl so how is hunting effecting water quality?? Tungsten is radioactive BTW.
  11. Bill S5058 has passed assembly. This would ban all forms of lead ammo on state lands. Tell your state representative you oppose this bill.
  12. It’s like lobster……market price.
  13. A rare Dr Seuss dogfish spotted today off the bar
  14. Nice bag. Rest assured Rick there are plenty of fish to play with in Niagara county! Come west my friend and join the hunt!
  15. You can still catch fish in an East wind in the spring. Because most of the water is cold already, those cold rollovers have less of a dramatic effect on fishing as if it occurs in June. Chase the colored water West on an East wind and target the easier high fish. The ones that go to bottom on an East wind are too hard to turn
  16. My boat has been ready to fish since the first week of March. It has seen four hours of trolling so far. Do I dare risk a jinx by mentioning 70 degrees on Sunday?
  17. Bringing this back to the top for us professional complainers.
  18. Dreamweaver bought them Stan. https://www.dreamweaverlures.com/shop/accesories/terminal-tackle/ecfs004-elberta-clipper-fixed-sl/
  19. They work. If you are running solo tight to structure you may find them better than a dipsy because you know where they are behind the boat. Perhaps running near the bottom while you are following a contour line on a finger lake. When I used to run them, I would put the heavier model down middle running deeper than dipsys off to the side. I stopped running them because you have to clear them each time a rigger goes off.
