Most of the county was iced out after 1.5 days of 30 mph NE winds. The fish ended up at the bar. How quickly it will reset is up to the winds. Based on warming trend, it will be changing daily. By Tuesday I would think Wilson would be coming back on line. The fish are coming out of winter pattern and mostly have empty stomachs. They are hungry and moving to find any alewives that move in. There are some smelt and emeralds around but the bait migration inshore has been delayed due to crap weather and consistent Easterly winds which have a cooling affect. If I was fishing Tuesday, I would be trailering to the bar.

I have thought about. And then thought about it some more. This a back door way that is used by the anti-hunting crowd. There is no science behind it.

This is an anti-hunting bill. You can’t use lead for waterfowl so how is hunting effecting water quality?? Tungsten is radioactive BTW.

Bill S5058 has passed assembly. This would ban all forms of lead ammo on state lands. Tell your state representative you oppose this bill.

East wind in April
Gill-T replied to Bustersit's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
You can still catch fish in an East wind in the spring. Because most of the water is cold already, those cold rollovers have less of a dramatic effect on fishing as if it occurs in June. Chase the colored water West on an East wind and target the easier high fish. The ones that go to bottom on an East wind are too hard to turn -

They work. If you are running solo tight to structure you may find them better than a dipsy because you know where they are behind the boat. Perhaps running near the bottom while you are following a contour line on a finger lake. When I used to run them, I would put the heavier model down middle running deeper than dipsys off to the side. I stopped running them because you have to clear them each time a rigger goes off.
