  1. Did anyone move rods today after the morning flurry? Tougher bite today! Bite shut off after a few tankers came by. Probably pure coincidence.
  2. Great Atlantic! We got a small one off the bar.
  3. I have a feeling the way the Pacific is heating up, someone will flip a switch and we will skip right into summer weather.
  4. Brian, are you coming West this spring?
  5. Wow that is deep for browns this time of year. Was there bait off the bank?
  6. A grind bite today. Started out front of Olcott and took four lakers in the first hour but didn’t see any “king” marks so we picked up and set down off Wilson. Took a nice coho then continued a slow grind on green fish. Six colors of leadcore was the best setup.

  7. Dead Alien has taken up residence now.
  8. Right. You don’t want your wife to know you went fishing when you are supposed to be at work. PM Chad Lapa on this site and pose the question to him. He runs the show and prefers Musky fishing so deserves harassment 😂
  9. It does not benefit the captain to keep their limit. One, boat gas is expensive. Two, the resource is too valuable. Taking over the client’s limit in an area will guarantee that it will be more difficult to achieve the same success in the afternoon trip. Most captains are honorable stewards of the lake so I would not worry too much about this topic. There are procession limits on fish also so taking home someone else’s limit may put you over.
  10. Satellite image showed NE winds late week had thinned the mud out along the shore. I thought the water looked better on the satt view to the West towards Wilson so Westward we went. It was good to see emerald green water again…. hello my old friend. Running around checking temps and for hooks on the fishfinder we stopped just West of Wilson and spun her back East to fish the Wilson plume which was slightly warmer and had tons of high Emerald Shiner schools and Alewives on the bottom in the 23-25’ range. We ended up close to double digits taking the typical mixed species bag of kings, cohos, a brown and a laker. Things are progressing rapidly. I was getting filamentous green algae on my downrigger cable as proof we are ahead of schedule with water productivity. Best baits continue to be a gold and red Brad’s thinfin flatlined off boards 100’ back and yellow NBK’s in stingray size on riggers and slide divers.
  11. Going to be muddy everywhere. If you look at the satellite image you may want to head East to the Gina plant to Sodus?
  12. There is a small speaker icon at the bottom of most of the YouTube icon bar that often is preset on mute. You need to click on it
  13. A coho away from batting for the cycle! Nice report! Is that your new lucky Del Griffith moustache?
  14. Ya my brother did not bring the good stuff! Still tasted good though!
  15. My boat has been sitting in my back yard serving as a lawn ornament since the beginning of March due to high winds on weekends. FINALLY!!!! a decent wind day. Lake is warming up nicely. I saw river temps in the 50’s and lake temps in the 47-46 degree range. We played around for about 4 hours catching the usual suspects. The water is still chalky so we stuck to placing baits in the upper 22’ just so they can see the lure.
  16. Bright stuff with rattles
  17. But just in time for the holiday, the Easter bunny showed up bringing kings and cohos to the south shore.
  18. Quality specimens
  19. Thankfully a rhino moved in and chased away the rat.
  20. Same dive curve as a mag deeper diver. I typically run a four pack of wire slide divers every time out. Mags on the inside with thinner AFW 30 lb wire and standard slides on outside with 40lb wire.
  21. Congratulations! I have not heard of any kings caught in the lake this year yet so you may be the first!
  22. I will be interested to hear of any good charter trips this week as a few will be venturing out. Still a sea of mud along the shore.
