I saw the emperor's press conferences. He is all for people getting outside in uncrowded venues.

With the state of the economy in shambles, fishing tackle vendors and tackle shops are going to be particularly vulnerable to bankruptcy due to razor thin profit margins in the tackle industry. We need these businesses as they tend to cater to our equipment needs specific to the body of water we fish. Tackle shows are being canceled. I would ask all tournament committees to consider allowing tackle stores and local vendors to have a presence at weigh-in locations for tournaments to sell their wares. Not only will this help support our local businesses but it will bring people to weigh-ins to help promotion of an event. Many teams realizing they are going to finish out of the money in an event, often bypass the scales and leave early. Give these teams some incentive to stick around and shop. Thank you for your consideration.

East wind ugh!
Gill-T replied to Bustersit's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
If given a choice of days on a weekend to fish, I pick the day that is not an East wind. Over the years I have a couple spots on the lake I go to during an East wind. The fish move due to changes in water temperature and oxygen levels when stuff comes rolling up from the bottom when the lake currents reverse with an East wind. Some go to bottom, some go offshore, some go high. I have found in spring I fish high with an East wind. -
LOU filled with great people. Knot worthy on this site offered to bring my daughter to the border if needed. Luckily my wife works with a Canadian nurse that is married to the head of Canadian Immigration. Much better than plan B which involved my boat .......

Kid is home. All good.

I can’t get her. Border closed to Americans. She may have to get a ride to border then walk across bridge.

I will be trying to get my daughter home from college in Canada. Anybody own a plane?

I tried to cut and paste from one of the major fishing tackle companies but I am not seeing the one-piece version right now. Hopefully they are still making them. A two piece 7' lite action downrigger rod would do the same thing. I use them as board rods and downrigger rods. The light action keeps boat mates from pulling hooks on fish and I don't need 50 million rods to manage. Yes, they get 30 lb mono on rigger rods even though they may not be rated for line that heavy......its an ugly stick, virtually indestructible. Bend them to the water on a tight release, step on them, bang them around.....it doesn't matter.

Ugly Stick one-piece lite action rods with light line. Wrong again Lucky. I am sure they fight better in streams. Interesting that a master center-pinned friend of mine has been catching them at Oak Orchard in February and they were dropping eggs and milt. They seem to be adapting to Great Lakes conditions like some of the pacific species.

We boated a 14 lber for a Sabre’s alumni event. I told the gentleman he would never catch one bigger in his lifetime so he kept it to get it mounted. One other maybe 12 lbs but the majority caught each year are under the 25” minimum. In the lake they are poor fighters. Give me the pacific species every day of the week.
