  3. Use white or chrome rattle traps and stay between mouth and the floating docks
  4. If your not looking to drop a ton of money gander mountain has a decent heavy musky rod for like $75 should work fine for pike casting heavy baits
  5. So I called a few shops and was surprised by the prices everyone wanted 6+ hours of labor and to pull the motor. I ended up going with Southbay boat n tackle on empire at the back of I Bay. They changed the cylinder and seals and had the boat back in a week. I'm very happy with the work. Parts + 3 hours of labor and I'm back in business . Thanks for the help and suggestions
  6. It's an outboard
  7. So I stopped at Bryce marina on the way to work.....i was told I should just replace the whole unit $1200 with labor vs just cylinder because the labor for taking the cylinder off and putting it back together would be the same price pretty much. Any one with experience on the matter chime in.
  8. Great thanks for the info
  9. I love the bushnells, they have never let me down and are great on battery life. I usually get about 6-8 months on 8AAs. I've owned quite a few in the $150-$300 price range and the bushnells are still working hard. My original is 7 years old and still works flawless. Good luck which ever brand you go with
  10. So I uncovered the rig today. Only to find my trim cylinder had cracked over winter. From looking online it seems all mercury motors tend to have faulty seals and have a lot of problems cracking. Some say it's covered by Merc and others have not been so lucky. I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and do I call a shop or take a chance on a eBay cylinder and a rebuild kit. That being said does anyone have lead on a good boat guy on the west side of rochester. I doubt an 06 motor is still covered by a warranty but I'll still call Monday. Any help would be great, thanks
  11. I tapped these ameriglo sights in and they work just fine
  12. If you have trouble finding one The Firing Pin in Bergen has a few.
  13. I have a model 93 heavy barrel which I have to agree with everyone is a great gun. I picked up a Henry .17 Henry varmint express lever action...which is also an awesome and fun gun to shoot
  14. I own a 92, it's a great gun. I would recommend just having your wife hold one to make sure she has a comfortable grip. It can be bulky feeling depend on her hand size. My wife has small hands and my XD40 sub comp fits her hands better.
  15. I'm glad you mentioned the the bait pile. I often wonder how many guys that want Ohio regs would like or love the bait reg. I can see both sides of the argument. I hunted in Ohio and didn't realize they baited during the season. Honestly I felt like I was cheating the whole time .
  16. Southern Ohio outfitters looks very promising ...my wife bought me a hunt last year for my birthday through eastern Ohio trophy whitetails (i would not re book them) anyone wanting details feel free to send a PM if considering them. The land and bucks were good the outfitter not so much.
  17. I'll second the lightfields also out of hasting barrel. Can be pricey but they group like no others I've shot out of my 20ga rem 1100.
  18. Had 6 doe at 45yds then a small 4pt came running in checking does and busted them all up. Of course not a single doe came my way and no big boys around to push the 4pt out.
  19. Nice buck! Very slow in 8c today. Had a small buck running a doe right at 7am and a lone doe at 730 and not a thing since.
  20. 775-2434 is the number I have for him
  21. Steve Tillich on manitou rd by mill rd is decent. I've always been happy with the results think his price is $80 this year
  22. That dark yote would look nice on a wall
  23. That's awesome, I've always wanted to try out that places since it's about a ten min drive. I'll have to book a day for sure now.
  24. That's a mint buck for sure! Congrats
  25. My spot has been over run with yotes this past month. I have 3-4 on my camera almost twice a day when I check. I also have had two nights I've seen 20 deer mostly all doe with fawns . The harsh winter didn't totally drop the numbers in 8A by the lake.
