Looking for some new places on I-bay
iceman05 replied to Dylan585's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Look at big woods musky lures on line .....there 6" phantoms work good for pike and you can rip them off a bass rod (not ideal but it works) I've also caught many bass on them as well Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Wishinfishin the weeds aren't horrible yet so you'll be fine....fishing has been decent still.....you can fish outside bay for pike I've had the best luck fishing west rather that east when outside of the bay...the water temp hasn't changed to much...good luck if you get out Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

All casting by the markers...trolling could work outside the bay on the mud line. Inside the bay I think you'd spend more time catching bottom, I'd say the avg depth is 4ft .........if your not familiar with the bay ONLY go in and out with the markers or you'll need a new lower end.. across the mouth there is an old rail bed / pier not sure it was taken out long before I was born Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I always release in hopes some young kid hooks up on the big fish. Big rattle traps were the key or if you have any like 6in jakes in chrome or white would work. Did catch a few on chrome J11's.... The bay is at 64degrees now but once is hits around 70 it's generally all hammer handle pike. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I usually hunt a honey hole with wise older family friend. We haven't seen or heard a bird all year. It's depressing to think normally seeing 30 plus birds on his property is now like hunting ghosts. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Last year I was fishing a musky tourney on waneta....about an hour left in the day I cast and for what ever reason I let go and threw a brand new rod n reel in about 12ft of mud stained water...... After throwing a tantrum like a 3yr old I grabbed an ultra lite pole and a big pike jig and after about 15 casts and dragging the bottom I pulled my gear back up....and that was the only thing I caught that day lol Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Hey, I have the clam nanook which when fully extended has more room than you would think. I recently took my wife and her two sisters fishing and there was room for a heater/two jigging holes/ and two 5gal pals for extra seats. My buddy had a clam hub style tent. It without a doubt has more room. But what I'm not a fan of is you must bring chairs/sled/tent/gear/shovel. The nanook is just all contained in one and it all fits. My only complaint with the hub style is a pain to set up in the wind,if it's not anchored its flips right over and also the poles collapse back in sometimes. Then if there is snow you have to shovel the area out. Just some things to consider....the nanook takes less than a min to set up .....you'll be happy with whatever you choose As both have pros and cons Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

If we had antler restrictions the deer wouldn't starve....that's a joke ha ha...... I know a lot of guys want to model ohio for deer management and they allow feeding i don't see where it's hurt them. I personally don't do it but don't see a problem with those that do. I think if every hunting camp had a feeder deer would benefit huge in areas with no ag around....I think the big tine 30/06 would be a good choice for all year feeding Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I've used the new Hamlin hardware before..they also have a location in Hilton you could drop it off at I'm sure....I've also used Rochester mower with good results. RM got a 1960 sickle bar mower running for me that hasn't run in ten years done in a week Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Sk8man I totally agree. Power and hand both have their place. I'll give you an example on over use, at a local pond so many people use power augers no matter how thick the ice all the home owners complained to the town. End result town has a new law no parking until 8am now on that stretch of road. .........here's a tip spend your money on a lazer or niles perfect for 12" and under and it's like a hot knife through butter. Two thoughts this past year I shot my buck on October 5th so what did I do beside trophy doe hunt...I fished more and got back to small game hunting . I think one buck rule would be fine and most would hunt something else to fill time. Second everyone likes Ohio's system and not to get off topic but Ohio also runs feeder and mineral stations would everyone object to that to help grow big bucks and help the population ?
