  1. Does any one run 11 inch flashers off core? I have used 8 inch flashers with 27 lb lead core (8 to 15 colors) and 20 lb floro leader. Just wondering if the rig would hold up to an 11 inch flasher with a fish on. Thanks Sean
  2. Thanks, He about fell over, one happy kid (First post should say my dad with fish not my day).
  3. Fished the North end of Cayuga with a Father from PA and his two young sons. We set up at around 6am started with a nice rainbow off the boards. Then it was laker time we put 15 in the boat and lost a few. They did a nice job on the rods and put 3 over 9lbs in the boat. We were just about to finish I cranked the speed up to 2.6mph and a rod went off right at quiting time. After a long fight by a ten year old we put a 13.8 lb laker in the boat. All other fish were released. I even stopped the boat let all my rigs sink while I revived the big fish. He took off for the bottom but five minutes later he was on top dead. Well he is on the way to the taxidermist now to make one 10 year old boy a nice trophy. My Dad with the fish.
  4. Johnnywalleye, Dont spend your time in the 27 to 30 ft range 80 ft and out over the schools of bait is were you need to be. They are feeding on sawbellys, find the bait. Thats all I can recall at this time. Ha I need some Oneida trolling info
  5. Isabell nice report, I dont care if I keep any I just want to catch some. Im new to Oneida any goo starting locations for trolling and a good launch if you don't mind. Ive been nocking the walleys on Owasco need some new scenery. I higly doubt the guy who puts fish in a live well and lets them go will be delt with by DEC, the same as the guy who has a trunk full. I can see that one in court your Honor I had a ten pounder to mount then I caught an eleven so I let the ten go. Thanks and good fishing.
  6. Thanks for the info. That should cut down on all of the core rigs I have to cary in the boat.
  7. 4 oz on the core, is that 10 colors? do you atach it just past the knot or on the core? Thanks Sean
  8. Robert, Like Splitshot said go North, just got off the lake 06/11/08 launched at taughannock didnt hit alot of fish till we traveled North. I had a two, a three and a five year old with me so we didn't fish long. We did put 2 salmon and three lakers in the boat one laker was 8.5lbs and the last was ten pounds. My five year old daughter reeled the fish in on a 400 copper rig. One salmon hit at 60ft the other at 25.
  9. Jason, Caught the Brown on 4 color core over 200. We found one pod of baite out over 200 from 20 to 60 ft down.
  10. Any good locations to start from? and what would be the best location to launch. Would like to get up that way this week thanks for the info.
  11. Chowder out today 06/07/08 Dean's cove for two hours. Fished South 120 to 200 fow. 6 lakers 3, 8 to 10 lbs one brown and one rainbow. Wire line dipseys flasher fly out 195, core, riggers, copper, it all worked this morning. Speed at ball 2mph.
  12. Woody 184 Thanks I had to take him out and show him a few things. He did a good job he actually reeled in the one he is holding. Im going to have to get him out more often. From what I hear he bought a small boat. A few more time out and he will have a big boat. HA Dan any place you can find bait on top, East side spring early summer, the west side summer to fall. At least for me any way.
  13. Thanks Guys, All the walleye were taken off the boards with a hand painted spoon, same spoon that caught us the winning walleye last year. Two around 7am one about 10:30am, and lost one about 12:00 at the back of the boat that was 9 to 10 lbs. If you can find a school of bait from the surface to 60 ft they are in it or around it. Even if it is in the center of the lake.
  14. Pic of three walleye. I hope this works.
  15. Fished the Bass Pro Shops Charity Tournament with crew. We caught a total of thirty fish; 3 large walleye,27 lake trout ranging to 7 lbs. The three walleye placed in the top three for the species weighing 5 to 7.5 lbs. As for the tournament, all I can say is I will be surprised if it happens next year. I see no reason why a young child who pays their entry fee and spends all day fishing should at least get some sort of prize or reward. They fish all day and then go to the awards ceremony at 4:30, wait patiently, watch the few kids that win get a prize and leave with nothing. Come on Bass Pro- they are your future customers .
  16. Jay We put some big Lakers in the boat (8 to 10 lbs) this week on Canandaigua. Spin Doctors and Flys on wire line dipseys. Sean
  17. See you guys on the Lake, and at the weight station in Watkins from 1 to 3 Sat. Good luck and good fishing. Sean
  18. Looking for any one who might own a Parker Sport Cabin. Interested in the quality and price. Thanks Sean

  20. Tank Sunday the 4th the surface temp was 48 to 51 in the West branch. We put 28 Lake Trout in the boat that day.
  21. Thanks I ment Hammonsport not Branchport. I think I will give it a try today. Thanks for the help Sean
  22. Can anyone recommend a good boat launch at the South end of Keuka? I have heard that the Branchport launch at the Rt 54A Bridge will not handle 20 ft boats and that there is no parking. Thanks for any help. Sean
  23. Had to be 25 to 27" and had a belly like a fat Lake Trout.
  24. Blacksquirrel2 good question I have caught alot of bows and brown, on Seneca, Cayuga, Canandaigua, and Owasco. But Keuka I have put very few in the boat. Alot of Lakers but not much else. The few I have caught were in the West Branch. Sean
