  1. Storm reintroduced the Thin Fin this year
  2. Rod, being a business owner, can't you "entertain" clients on the boat and write off a portion (or all) of the nut as a business expense?? No accountant here, just a thought....
  3. Stan, here is a set of plans for big boards if you don't already have them. I have run these for many years an love them. They pull like crazy. http://triflash.hallcrash.net/free/toppage1.aspx

  5. Do you mean the ramp, or the docks?? with the docks, its around the third week of April, depends on the weather.
  6. I felt like I knew the man from reading the reports, but I have never met him....sorry that i didn't. I never fished at the Oak, but thanks to Joe, I feel like I have. Condolences to his family, rest in peace.......
  7. I run a Furuno 582L, and never had a problem until last season. Every once in a while the depth reading will lock on a particular depth and won't move. restarting corrects it. I did replace the transducer prior to last season so i'm not sure which one is the culprit. Anyone have a similar issue with their units????
  8. Tom, I'll give this free advise, but only once. When the cop/ranger said to you that you needed the flag your response should have been " sorry officer, i intended on picking one up last night, but i had to work late at the restaurant. His response would have been "what restaurant". And you say.. "the restaurant where i'm the executive chef, you should stop by some night and i'll hook you up"!!! No ticket, and you'll have another name to drop when you get stopped the next time while your involved in some outlaw fishing trip.
  9. Jim, I wish i could attend but its just a little out of my way see ya soon...
  10. Mike, welcome to the site. these guys are great and wealth of information, but they can't name boats. Unless your significant other disagrees, "BALLS DEEP" is the name for the boat.
  11. Can someone clear this up for me regarding the OPEN division. No observer is clear, no culling? but a 3 man team can take a limit of fish (9) and the best 3 have to be given to the weighmaster by noon each day? and you can start at any time after midnight. If thats the case it sounds good to me. The fact is the tourny will attract teams that either don't want to or can't provide a observer for the Am., or can only commit to one day of fishing, and they could still fish with a chance to cash in, is a good thing IMHO. I think it's a positive move by the committe and should attract more boats. I'm considering the open division. Does anyone know the payout structure???
  12. John may not know his computer very well, but he knows how to catch salmon He is also the mayor of red dock/Wrights Landing.... Hi John!!!
  13. scottys for salmon, chamberlin for trout. Tim stated the pros on the scottys. with the longer lead to the release the rod pumps then releases. do like the chamberlin for the light spoon work.
  14. I do follow the color guidelines as it pertains to salmon most of the time, though green is one of the colors that may find itself out of the preferred depth range. I don't want to hijack the thread, but on this topic, who has an opinion on the color copper and where are you running it the most.
  15. I've had three heartland diver rods, (brown) for 9 seasons now. put twillie's on all three, and going strong, no guide issues. good rod for the price.
