  1. I did that type trip through the Devils Hole a few times with Capt Joe Cinelli many years ago. Did it a few times without the charter in my 17 1/2 ft Sea Nymph / 115 Johnson after that. Was lots of fun and very interesting. It is kind of far now. I do miss the action.
  2. I was coming home from a business trip in Cleveland, Ohio on 80 east. I must have passed 1000 Power Company Line trucks coming east from as far west as Missouri. I guess they feel this is "The Big One"
  3. I thought that was a bit high for a 2008. I had been looking and just ordered a new 2013 T9.9XPA from a dealer near home in Pa for $2900 which i thought was very reasonable. The T9.9XPA is a 25 in shaft and must be setup for remote control (no tiller). I had not been able to find that price anywhere in the US or online. Great deal.
  4. Does it have power tilt and what is the shaft length?
  5. I am working on a probe detector/retriever. Anyone interested in financing the project ?????
  6. After the 12 shots the boat should be renamed "Jack-N-Water"
  7. Boat was sold on Friday by the first person to see it.
  8. Boat is owned by a friend of mine who is the second owner. He has had it for two seasons. He bought it from a widow of the origional owner who used it on the finger lakes at their cottage. It is for sale because my friend and I have just purchased a SportCraft 272. The Penn Yan runs like a top. I will be selling my Sport Craft 230 Fisherman in the spring. I will take some Penn Yan Pics this weekend and post monday. The boat was pulled out on sunday and is sitting at Mike's Marina if you are interested. Len
  9. 1991 Penn Yan 212 Tournament, 4.3 V6 Mercruiser I/O (excellent on Gas) 4 Cannon Mag 10 Dowriggers, Fishhawk 840, Lowrance Combo unit. Radio etc. Load Rite trailer. Excellent condition, Ready to fish. Can be seen at Mike's Marina, Mexico, NY $6k Firm
  10. I am not very familiar with that area. Where is the "drowned island"?
  11. I fished out of the Stoney point launch on Sat 4/14. We went there to try to avoid the heavy waves from a northerly wind. Waves were about 2-3 ft. We turned south out of the bay, the water was crystal clear, you could see the bottom at 25 ft even with the waves. Nedless to say after about 3hrs without a bite and not seeing anyone else take anything , we left. Len
  12. My favorite tool while driving is the National Dial a Bouy at 1-888-701-8892 and enter bouy 45012. That location is slightly northeast of Rochester and it will give you all the wave data within about 50 minutes ago.
  13. Glad to see you got out later. We talked at the Stoney point launch Sat morn. nice catch. Len
  14. As Obama said when he was running for President "under my administration, energy prices will necessarily skyrocket" !!!!!!. You can find that video online. With his policies, I wonder if he thinks a Chevy VOLT can float.
  15. Does anyone have info on access from the State Ramps at Mexico (Little Salmon) or the Salmon river ??
  16. On the line end a swivel is needed to eliminate line twist. On the lure end the idea is to have the lure twist and turn with the attractor, thus sometimes no swivel. There are some brands with a swivel. I personally like the "Gold Star" items with the wrap in connection that looks like an open spring to attach the lure leader. Wish all brands would use them. On the morn of 9/8 we caught a nice King that did not fight too well in front of the Salmon River. He had a prfectly good fly in his mouth. The loop was in tact. I guess somene forgot to close the clip. He probably just finished his previous fight.
  17. Wanted: Cylinder heads for 115 HP Johnson/Evinrude 1993 or equivalent. Spark plug threads must be in good shape.
  18. I am also interested Call my cell at 570-574-4733. Len
  19. looks like Mike's Marina -east side of the river. Is that the case?
  20. Not enough info to make a judgment. Is it Cobra? What Year?
  21. Many years ago my 12 year old son and his friends spent plenty of time "picking" j-plugs on the beaches around the dunes. They were the good ol days of recycling lost lures. Now you cannot tell the difference between a jewelry store and a sporting goods store.
  22. Thanks guys. I guess it depends on how the budget is going at that particular time
  23. I will be fishing out of Sandy Pond or the Little Salmon (Mikes Marina) depending on what we are chasing. I am also from Pa. (Wilkes Barre) I mayl have some room on board. If you re interested, e-mail me with your cell number. [email protected] Len (Desperado)
  24. I am considering a new hummingbird combo. Is the side imaging version useful on the lake and worth the extra $$$
  25. I was cleaning out some old magazines and there was a fall 2002 salmon river outdoors magazine published by -- guess who---??? The thug brothers from the Salmon River attack. Go figure!!!. Reading it closely led me to believe they had a chip on their shoulder back then also.
