Looking for w.o.t for 1982 sportcraft 25ft
Fat Trout replied to SALMONBOY35's topic in This Old Boat
The 25 is a big boat and a 5.7 is 250 hp if i recall correctly. I had a 232 sportcraft with a soft top and a 5.7. top end was 29 or 30 at WOT but only if flat calm. Im not sure if you have a hard top but thats a bigger boat than the 232 and 30+ yrs old it may be carrying more extra weight in water soaked decking /transom or whatever and the engine might not be as strong as it once was. Also, my current and prior fish hawk top speeds both read high compared to gps. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

So i hav a fishmaster and it uses exactly what is in the cabelas link below. I showed a pic i have of it in the transom of my boat. I think u have a starweld....aside from motor brand hookup questions i dont see why it wouldnt work. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Auxiliary-Motor-Connector-Rods/700014.uts?slotId=0 Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I won't say your wrong with your assessment.... I'll only throw out there that NADA doesnt account for the current popularity of this model and the lack of used inventory. Since last year ive seen a bunch of WTB posts for FM 196's. I bought a new one....in part because i didnt want to pay as much for used as people were getting. Im not trying to change your mind.....but i do understand where he is coming from. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Yeah so i found this posted yesterday....view from selkirk of an ice field. Combine that with the satellite image posted on here the other day and i might call it dicey. South shore might be open if enough south wind is going but i would be careful about running at any speed. I planned to go end of this week and bailed (unfortunately) Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The Facebook page for salmon country marina showed the river still locked up solid upstream as of friday The state launch may very well be open but this gives an idea of the state of things. Its close but marginal. Tonight and tomorrow night will hit 15 deg which wont help. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

So i dont know whats the latest with paints but i would suggest looking into a barrier coat. Straight bottom paint doesnt necessarily prevent blistering. My father and i had a 92 sportcraft that ended up with osmotic blistering which we repaired. After that it was barrier coat with separate bottom coat (from what i understand). The experience sucked so if i ever end up with another glass boat that sits in a slip this is something ill do. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have a pair of traxtech 6" if that is of interest. https://www.traxstech.com/PM_6_6_Inch_Tall_Non_Swivel_Base_p/pm-6.htm -
Yeah they tried to tell me that when i bought my 18 starweld and i put a 72 on that boat which sat a lot lower. I already know my 72" will be marginal for my fishmaster and have other plans. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

NJ. No one comes to NJ on purpose, wouldnt blame the DEC on that lol. The posted.video on here was excellent. They spoke of intended outreach initiatives. I might send some constructive comments if i can find a location to send it to. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
