  1. The Facebook page for salmon country marina showed the river still locked up solid upstream as of friday The state launch may very well be open but this gives an idea of the state of things. Its close but marginal. Tonight and tomorrow night will hit 15 deg which wont help. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  3. I have (2) Traxtech 6" fixed downrigger track mounts I'm selling. $100 including shipping for the pair. Photo of one of them below
  4. So i dont know whats the latest with paints but i would suggest looking into a barrier coat. Straight bottom paint doesnt necessarily prevent blistering. My father and i had a 92 sportcraft that ended up with osmotic blistering which we repaired. After that it was barrier coat with separate bottom coat (from what i understand). The experience sucked so if i ever end up with another glass boat that sits in a slip this is something ill do. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I have a pair of traxtech 6" if that is of interest. https://www.traxstech.com/PM_6_6_Inch_Tall_Non_Swivel_Base_p/pm-6.htm
  6. Yeah they tried to tell me that when i bought my 18 starweld and i put a 72 on that boat which sat a lot lower. I already know my 72" will be marginal for my fishmaster and have other plans. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  13. NJ. No one comes to NJ on purpose, wouldnt blame the DEC on that lol. The posted.video on here was excellent. They spoke of intended outreach initiatives. I might send some constructive comments if i can find a location to send it to. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. Understood, i can see your perspective. Consider mine a little more. I can't just drop everything when the fishing is hot either. If i could do it and only kill one day i would.....gladly. instead they put it at 6:30 mid week so i have to kill one day of work to get there get a room to stay since my camp is winterized and burn another work day coming home. Incidentally i dont do one day suicide runs anymore in the winter after wrecking once on the highway hitting black ice after (ironically) stopping to get some sleep to be safe lol. Its ok though. I got over the fact they'll never change the timing but i still pipe up about it once in a while. I appreciate the effort they put in. I just wish that since they promote this as a fishery meant to attract participation of anglers further than the local towns around the lake that there be an occasional attempt to encourage engagement of those same people. 17. Thanks. Completely understood and their efforts are appreciated. Hopefully they understand a large portion of the resource user group has similar restrictions and limitations but yet is very interested in the well being if the resource even if not present. 18. Back when there was more complaining by some about lack of attendance i made this point. Hell even if you made one a Friday or a monday i could work it around a weekend where i could only have to burn one vacation day. Nope....only Tuesday- Thursday and @6pm or so.... so i have to burn 2 days to make a meeting. Im all for attending but if they wont bend once in a while why should i upend my life. 19. I put mine on the transom on a track mount with cheap scotty track rod holder base and FF mount. No dash clutter or holes Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Do some youtube searches. Pretty sure i saw some videos of guys demonstrating the TR-1 in snottier than 1'. Keep in mind you have to manage your expectations and the wind and waves increase. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. You are correct....up until and ending with the 115hp. Up through that size they have the VTS switch which you can do with the switch they sell or cobble together the same thing. For the 150 you can get the functionality but only through command link gauges. I had a 2014 115 Yamaha that i installed and used the VTS switch on. I sold that boat and bought one with a 150 and researched this which is how i know about the need for the command link gauges on the 150 and larger. One of the reasons the 115 has the simple switch while the 150 doesnt is because Yamaha offers a tiller version up to the 115 size. The tillers all have the switch. Non tiller models inheretly have the hookup under the cowling. I hope this helps. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I think you need the command link digital gauges though so if you expected that then your all set Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I will only throw out there that the OP didn't present himself as a total newbie. He noted he has been doing this a couple of years and was looking to improve his game (more or less). All posted points are still valid. I'm just saying if he started out with , "hey this season is going to be my first, do I need a fishhawk" my answer would be different. The FH is nothing more than a tool. If you invest in this game enough to come up more than once in while AND start to question why others may tend to do better, is it worth it, well I think it is. Lots of opinions out there though and there are still people that think fluorocarbon and lighter line doesn't matter in clear water. I don't try to correct them. To each his own. Full disclosure, I went so far as to choke down the cost of a smart troll. Jury is still out on that one but prelim data made it fantastic to me IF it keeps operating right (had some operational issues). I'm not suggesting anyone other than charters or the mentally insane (like me) should buy that one....but yeah, that's how bad I want to know the what and where's in this lake.
  24. I dont necessarily fish temp but i like to know where it is. Realistically there is no way im going without fish finder anyway, i was just playing along with the prior commentary [emoji6] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
