  1. I guess the concern is that some folks are contagious and feel fine. Why stay home if you think you are fine A face cover will decrease the distance a breath, sneeze cough or whatever will travel by velocity reduction. Yes not protecting the individual but keeping the unknown carrier from spreading as far. Whatever anyones thought is....if putting something over my face loosens things up, ok fine. I dont like looking at most of the ugly folks in this world anyway and im no gem either Even before covid there were (and still are) a bunch of no sneeze covering no hand washing dirty bastards out there. At least thats a lite better these days. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. NJ did this with mandatory masks at public stores Weird at first but you get over it quick. Im rural but it is what it is. I do it out of respect for business owners and others i guess. Just bought beer at a small liquor store (comical thats essential but whatever)...lady waited outside until i was leaving. Tried to hold the door for her and stretch my distance but she still waved me to go. No prob...old habits are hard to break. Im not judging anymore...ok perhaps a little...but a lot less Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. The only thing they seem to be pushing are fines for not social distancing. Even then they are gonna go after groups who make a scene i would imagine. I couldn't find anything solid on travel. I looked as i was interested. This would make sense to me. They dont have a lot of legal ground to stand on there. Especially when cuomo blew a fit at rhode islands goveror for suggesting blocking ny travel there. Executive actions are not laws and enforcement is murky at best. No one wants to try to fight something but you would probably win. Best to fly under the radar and not draw attention (my general life philosophy). I think as said parking is your primary issue. 4. I also have the 80 terrova 24v with ipilot. I have the 72" shaft which has been great. I have been running it for 5 seasons. 4 of them on a. 18' starweld and this last season on a fishmaster 196. i fish solo all the time Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. glad you cleared that up
  6. Your profile has your location as Watertown and you are posting a picture from Mexico. You have had fairly heavy handed commentary toward those who might travel to the area. Sure, you can say your buddy/ family member etc sent it to you. I'm just sayin "Optics are bad" relative to your commentary.
  7. I'm pretty sure he won't stop for a spool of Fluorocarbon though.....I don't care how big it is
  8. For once politics is less annoying than other things lol Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Im not trying to argue....but this is the kind of thing that complicates the discussion. From Cuomo last Saturday... threatening to sue Rhode Island for trying to restrict NY'ers from traveling to other states https://www.lohud.com/story/news/politics/2020/03/28/cuomo-rips-possible-ban-new-yorkers-travel-vowing-sue-rhode-island/2934301001/ Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. x2 on reduction in telemarketing crap. Separately I found a leak under my stairs in my well pressure tank that I would never have found if I wasn't digging through supplies. It only recently started and would have caused damage. so while I'd rather have found the damage and never had any of us deal with this Covid thing.....what the hell, I'll be thankful for finding it because of Covid-19
  11. No disagreement on hanging tight for now. However a NY plate doesn't hold a lot of value in my book these days. I'm in Rural NW NJ. My situation is definitely better than the "in state" NY guys to the east of me (NYC / Westchester). Hopefully as this moves forward each person considers their own situation appropriately. Even then, when I do go to my Lake O camp, I'm going to bring what I need, keep to myself and avoid stores /keep a low profile for a while.
  12. Set to scan. Local use channels such as 67 and 69 in my area plus 16.
  13. you and I are tortured fishing soles. Still love the pics though
  14. Fantastic analysis and I can be accused of being the guy that refuses to take his shoes off. Guy on the left no brainer. I'd have picked the guy on the right as the owner.
  15. I agree with you. This is a brush fire and its not going to burn equally. Its going to burn hot and fast where the piles of dry fuel are. Elsewhere else the burn is slower and more manageable provided reasonable actions taken. I've been watching too many folks acting like NYC is equivalent to the cornfields of Iowa....but it just hasn't made it there yet. OK yes they didn't have as many folks flying in from China but no they are not the same density. Yes it hasn't made it there as much yet but no its not the same. If we act like everywhere is a full out burn, the prevention actions will be worse than the burn through. NY upstate has always been screwed by the vast difference of downstate / NYC. This is no different.
  16. Were there any outta state guys they were talking to? I'm not going anywhere short term but eventually...… Granted I don't use the state launch but even still good to stay up on what is going on.
  17. I'd have been fired multiple times by now if I lived that close. Much like many moons ago when I was picking a college. Syracuse was thought of and even my young stupid ass knew then that I would fail out running up to the river constantly
  18. Yeah no surprise there, just jealous. I'm using the time to get some new rigs set up. If this lasts long enough I'm going to set a spread in my driveway. I'm sure if I tie a raw hide on the end of a line I could get one of my dogs to pop a rigger for me.
  19. sigh.....that's what I figured.
  20. While I'm in one of the more rural locations of NJ....this thought more than anything is why I'm going to keep my boat at home for the time being. It kills me but Murphy's law (ie sh*t happens....not my silly governor) is what will keep me at bay for now. Good luck (fishing and otherwise) to all, I don't blame or look differently on anyone who chooses differently. Granted the pictures will be tough to swallow.
  21. Until the governor lifts the current restriction (or eases it) you have to think its an unknown because of how many people travel to join in. Plus in the defense of organizers, its hard to project a cash payout when there is zero reliability on attendance. I'd love to skirt the rules, but for a while (and it kills me to say this) I'm keeping my boat where it is. I'm in NJ so I have bigger distance to consider. I was all in for dragging it up later this week for the season. If I was local....different calculation.
  22. Yeah, I think we are all just going to end up operating in a new reality for a while until its gone which really means some level of vaccine (I guess). Until then we just have to avoid swamping the medical so once the short term actions do what they do we will inevitably go into a secondary stage of life (IMO) with some combination of limitations. I'm hoping that next step is workable and even makes for good jokes and good "i'm going fishing....because its safe-er" excuses. I'm pretty anti-social so this is right in my wheelhouse (haha). I never did name my boat but I joked with my wife that "social distancing" would be a good one as fits my personality.
  23. II like Gill-T's thinking and agree with it. I'm pretty sure Gill-T is talking about when things loosen up. Short term there aren't any tournaments anyway and we are over a month away from the LOC spring derby. As to the virus, short term we have a lock down to avoid swamping the medical services I don't like it but hard to argue. Long term its going to walk among us and we are going to have to get back to life with that in mind. How that works out we will see.
  24. Nothing wrong with saying F-china. One of the strongest country of origin restrictions i have dealt with for an equipment project of mine was for equipment GOING to china.....they had a NO Chinese content restriction lol. We just have to individually remember that sourcing matters when there is a purchase choice in the future. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Damn....i was hoping to drag my boat up next week. I think the problem now is unknown lines drawn on enforcement, support etc when and where needed. Driving up i loose a wheel bearing on 81 north....now what. Could be stranded....could end up in trouble. Have to see where this settles out. I feel like NY and California are trying to one up each other Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
