  1. Its a damn shame Cortland doesnt make the flea flicker line anymore. I got lucky and bought a 2500yd spool of 30# just before it was all gone. Im still working with it and have 1000yds left. Im gonna cry when its gone. I barely get anything on my rigger lines. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. too clean...needs crap hanging out of all of the storage spots lol.
  3. Based on what I'm seeing I wouldn't rule out Wright's landing yet. as of now while the marina is closed the ramp and the parking for the ramps seem to be okay The future is uncertain though but this season is probably still okay something to look into for you Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. For now the word seems to be that its fine. Comments are about the final plans which remain to be seen.
  5. I see others posting differently about launching (not the marina). If its not ideal but workable, let them go there. Don't draw them to Mexico unless its true. I've seen your posts (in general) so I'll say I'm not sure which is which. If I'm wrong I apologize, if you are poop stirring please don't.
  6. All's fair. Shipping riggers is tough. Sellers choice.
  7. In case this helps. I have his weights in 3 sizes. One thing I have taken to doing is putting a very slight kick in the tail and making one specific to each side port / starboard. It helps for deeper conditions fishing in some current. I had a pair of 12#'ers get together 1 time in cross current fishing deep. No big deal, ended well. I put the kick in the tail and never had an issue since.
  8. Good question....not a bad watermelon type pattern. @Hachimo didn't look until now but this pattern...keep! Stinger NBK is a king /brown killer. Go Mag too!
  9. You did good and your intentions and actions were awesome. Kids will be kids, dads will be dads and the whole of us will continue to obsess over (and enjoy) a sport that makes us nutty at times. If it didn't make me nutty I wouldn't want in on it every year so bad!
  10. Calendar. June +/- is always a challenging month. Equal spread of preferred water temps always spreads the fish. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. This! …….and when a deeper rigger fires, put the shallower rigger at the deeper rigger location and set the original deep rigger to the shallow position. If you want the same lure back in the deeper spot, when both are set, pull the deep one, move the shallower one deep and reset the shallower one. I learned a while ago that passing riggers (especially with flashers) can be dicey. Admittedly I tend to set my lines further back which makes it more of a potential concern. Perfect conditions and shallower-er, no problem (wider transom helps) Deeper you go the hairier it gets especially below 80 ish feet, especially > 100. My port and starboard shark weights have a slight kick in the back fin to make them plane out just a little. My center rear rigger (when I run it) is my shallowest rigger and set last. I may loose some time with my philosophy, but I don't tangle rigger lines or weights anymore so I think my time spent saves time in the long run. I really only tangled rigger balls once....fishing deep with a narrow transom boat and shark weights without the kick (plus a solid current below). I tangled lines plenty of times (in the past) and made lots of balls of twisted fuzz.
  12. Anyone do this on a Fishmaster? I'm thinking about it. More for the rocket launcher, lights etc than radar
  13. I wouldnt try to get towed in with that but for how you describe the use, as long as your bolts have full or at least 3/4 thread engagement you should be fine. If it rips out then you have bigger problems or take you family swimming in some crazy conditions. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Noooo…..hopefully it changes. I got shut down this weekend because my wife and I were one step too close to someone who got this covid crap. I was supposed to come up last Thursday. We bailed just to be cautious and our potential connection tested negative....finally on Monday. I still have yet to float my boat. When I do I might troll until I run out of gas out of spite!
  15. I found out a long time ago that it only takes 1 good day to suck you into this and endure lots of days of not so good fishing always looking for that great day again!
  16. go with brussel sprouts. Better pattern and more sting!
  17. Thanks dad. You be sure to let me know when its ok to sit at the adult table k? Oh thats right, I've fished this lake for 35 years, respect it like no other and learned a long time ago not to believe everything i hear. If you can resurrect my father from the grave so i can fish with him again and abide by your rules that would be great. Until then mind your own business. 18. Yeah those squirrels better be distant from me in the future lol. Thought I saw your boat pass by while I was on the roof. Glad to see your reports etc. and that your getting fish. At this rate I'll probably finally get tuned in right in time for the June slow down of fishing while the thermocline sets up (haha). I'll still go anyway. Current plan is to come up next weekend, possibly Friday. If you are up I'll try to catch up and say hi.
  19. Well everyone is entitled to their opinion. Those of us who do fish solo do so with proper planning and precautions (at least I do) but thanks for jumping on here to imply I (we) don't. Fair point on the tourney however I would say HB2 is talking about something that is a far cry from formally organized. HB2.....I might actually be interested in something like this even though you guys to the west have it easy! lol.
  20. Im jealous of you guys. I managed to get my boat up and open my camp but spent the weekend cleaning up after the mega party in the red squirrels and mice had over the winter at my place [emoji2959] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. If thats your 6# brown in the picture you can go ahead and upgrade that to a king instead of a brown. [emoji106] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Some of the folks out of mexico use 69. Scan both if you can.
  23. It seems your right. Looks like I have to get a flag. I got the electronic thing last year because I was piling up old flares and they were getting expensive. below is from the NYS boater's guide
  24. If you run divers consider a braid setup as opposed to wire I was told to try it I did and I find them easier than wire. Wire has its place but is less forgiving. I have a smart-troll setup and found the braid got deeper than I thought it would
