  1. While I like the idea and always try to support small business as an business owner myself I am not sure it will be possible in the short term. Hopefully I am wrong here. Its a great idea once things return to some state of normal. With the "Pause" State Executive order going into effect tonight that 100% of non-essential business are to close how can tackle shops & vendors do business? Also I do not believe that Marinas & Boat shops fall under the "essential businesses" listed on the NYS site. If these business are shuttered how are boat owners who have stored at boat yards to get their boats out & ready? The order also states "temporarily bans all non essential gatherings of any size for any reason" The reality is this could go on for a while. Again I hope I am wrong! Hopefully we are on the downside of this pandemic sooner than later and there will still be time to hold tournaments & events. For anybody who has been laid off, had to close their business or been adversley effected by this my thoughts are with you. For anybody not effected directly please think of others who have or could be and take the necessary precautions to stop the spread. https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-signs-new-york-state-pause-executive-order
  2. Scotty 1177 clip! Its the bigger Scotty clip. Works fine for braid backed copper.
  3. Is there a specific type of pole you are looking to set up? There is a reason to the multiple line weights in most cases but no standard answer as different applications require different set ups.
  4. Typically if we have spoon bite going we will run Diver rods clean, no flasher. Just diver to spoon, for both Browns & Kings. For Kings we use 6-7' of 20pd Blood Run Floro, browns 12-15 depending on depth & water color. We use flashers with Divers when running flys & meat rigs.
  5. I Have the Raymarine Axioms w/RV-100 Transducer. Very happy with it. Honestly I probably don't utilize the RV enough and find myself on 2D most of the time, old habits die hard I guess. Lots of You tube videos demonstrating the features & functions
  6. Its another West Coast style boat. So yes similar to Hewes. Have only ever seen one of their bigger offshore boats up close. Very nice boat to say the least. Fit and finish was top notch!
  7. 18 Pro-V with extended transom below. About same hull length as the 20 sportsman but wider, a little deeper, thicker hull etc. Worth a look. Depending on budget the 19' SeaRunner is also one to consider. http://www.clemensmarina.com/boatdetail.php?id=3176
  8. The Hewes Pro-V & Searunner have wider beams than the Sportsman model. You should look at the ET versions. Extended transom, longer hull.
  9. She is a beauty! Why are you selling it? I looked at that exact same model before I bought my current boat. I had decided I wanted to stay towable for the time being and with the 9'6 beam just couldn't do it.
  10. Its a valid point FF34 and something any prospective buyer should certainly consider. Especially Scalloper as he is even further away up in Maine. Before I bought mine a had a good conversation with both the manufacture & the dealer regarding how any warranty service would be handled. As of this point I have only had one small issue with the boat, contacted the manufacture directly and the part was shipped out the next day. Now how would they handle a major issue, hard to say unless it happens. Most cosmetic & electrical issues on newer boats can be easily fixed. The problem would be if something major to the hull happened, my thinking was that these boats are built like brick s**t houses so a hull failure would be really slim. One good thing about the West Coast companies is that the majority (not all) are small independent boat builders. Customer service & satisfaction is still very important to them. I do admit buying from a West Coast company with no local representation is a leap of faith to a degree. Thunderjet has a Dealer in PA & Kingfisher has a couple dealers across the border.
  11. You should look at the west coast style boats. Hewescraft, Northriver, Kingfisher, Thunderjet, Weldcraft are a few. Typically all heavy gauge welded boats with no plastic, no cheapness. Utilitarian in style but well thought out and build to last
  12. If that 150 is their 4-stroke its a great engine. Its one of the USA engines built in Wisconsin. I have one with on the small boat with 300+ hours not one issue ever. That 9.9 Kicker is built in partnership Tohatsu in China with all their other engines 30HP & under. Merc Mid engines 40-75hp are built in a different Chinese factory. It will be nearly impossible to find a newer Lund with a Yamaha on it. I have had probably a dozen boats with outboards over the years all Merc's except one with an Evinrude. Only ever had a problem with one. It was one of the early 50hp 4 strokes. Blew it up with 10 hours on it. Funny thing is that the mid engine four stroke Mercurys back then were built in a partnership with Yamaha. That was over 20 years ago though. All that said Yamaha builds great engines. I honestly think you can go wrong with either. Something to consider is service. If you have a good reliable repair shop near you that services one brand and not the other it should be taken into consideration.
  13. Unfortunately it wont be any easier, Crestliner is also owned by Brunswick.
  14. Atlantics are an incidental catch here. Not a fish we target as the numbers are low. Catch a handful a season maybe. Considered the Unicorn of the lake.
  15. On Flasher rods no leader, main line right to Flasher swivel. On spoon rods I leader down with a swivel typically to 20pd Fluorocarbon.
  16. Agreed! That was kind of my point thats why I mentioned it , just on that specific boat its not so easy do to as the rod locker door is the top of the gunwale. Cant mount the DR plate on that. The Versa track mounts are another option on those boats.
  17. Amish outfitters also has them. Link below to one I made a couple years ago.
