  1. Raymarine SPX-5R autopilot. The fluxgate compass, computer, and the ST6002 control head is slightly over one year old. The drive unit is brand new in the box. I had problems with the old drive unit and Raymarine replaced it with a new one. This unit is in perfect condition I'm selling it because I have hydraulic steering on my rig and I am going to install new hydraulic auto pilot unit. Please serious inquires only, I can install it in minutes if someone wanted to see it operate. I have over $1600 in this and I'll sell it for $950.00
  2. I hear ya guys fished the LOU & fought fleas & weeds so I switched to Oneida.....no fleas or weeds and plenty of Walleyes.
  3. I tried a friends card on my Lowrance 5300 used it on Oneida and couldn't wait to get home to order one from Cabelas. I'll use it Sunday on Cayuga will let you know how it worked on deeper water, the performance on Oneida was top notch it marked the shoals perfectly.
  4. I too have some 30 lb Big Game on the way.......guess I better hang onto my flea line
  5. Oneida is hot right now seems like they're getting them all over, we fished deep the last 2 days and shallow last week and getting a limit only took 2 or 3 hours. Worm harness, 2 color lead core in shallow with jointed perch plugs all worked fine!
  6. One year old Outboard Motor Jacks for Mercury/Mariner motors. Paid $60.00 will let go for $25.00 Binghamton area 607-725-5576
  7. Frisco is in along with Sliderbite & Joey!
  8. Thanks................so you're confident that the ball speed is accurate on the default setting! Thanks Ken
  9. Bobber, What was the speed difference at the ball compared to the GPS and how close was the wheel speed at the transducer compared to the ball? I got a X4 last year and I'm still in the learning mode. Just try to figure out which is more accurate. Ken
  10. Finally reached a settlement with Mercury they're replacing the Opti with a new 150 hp 4 stroke. Didn't get out of it for free but the deal was fair. The draw back is that there is an 80 day lag because of the high demands. My fingers are crossed being that this unit is new. I would caution anyone from buying an Opti, the overheating problems occurred in the winter so what I'm trying to say is that if I didn't use it in cold weather the problem might not have been identified. Mercury worked hard to resolve the issue but was unable to fix or find the problem, but they did make it right!
  11. I have a 175 Opti that has had overheating problems since it was new so after a long struggle, Mercury is going to replace it with a Verado or the new 150 EFI! So asking people who have them is the best way to seek some advice!
  12. I don't have a choice Mercury is footing the bill and yes a 4 stroke.
  13. Any of you guy have any knowledge on the Mercury Verado? After 4 years of frustration Mercury has finally determined that they cannot repair my Optimax with that I'm going back to a 4 cycle so I'm seeking info on a Verado or the new 150 EFI. Ken
  14. Any of you guy have any knowledge on the Mercury Verado?
  15. Good share of our trolling is in the winter! On Seneca we've had good results with fly/dodger combos at 2.2 ish MPH however we've done better on Cayuga with streamers at 2.8 to 3.2 so the jury is out it depends what you're dragging and whether it's on top or down! I run quite a bit faster fishing the surface! Hope that helps
  16. Raymarine X5...........this is my third auto pilot. I have hydraulic steering and I had a Simrad which gave me fits. The pro on the X5 is that it's easy to install and if it needs to be removed it doesn't effort your steering because it mounts on the helm. It's a bit noisey!
  17. Any of you guys have any pros or cons on the Mercury Verado or the new 150 HP 4 cycle? I'm having fits with my 175 Opti that Mercury is having trouble resolving.
  18. I use the yellow release which is common for mono on flat lines, the cold shrink on the top (stingers idea) prevents the mono from catching on the jaws and breaking on windy days. The other is the one I use for braid attached to leadcore. The yellow release won't hold the braid/lead. I have no idea where I bought the other or what it is called. I hope this helps. Ken
  19. Check out an earlier post......North End of Cayuga..............all kinds of info there!
  20. I would stay clear of Treman we launched there a week ago and had difficulty getting back to the docks>
  21. Mike, I have 4...........2 with 10 color & 1 with 3 color & 50' braid then 4 more color............1 with 4 color 50' braid then 3 color. 5' down per color and I like putting the braid in the release and it saves a big droop on the board and I can target fish up high or low plus work the top water stuff, with that you should be able to run at least 6 or 7 rods per side The lead is a pain but it does catch fish!
