  1. Hook em bag with 4 panels. large size 16" X 24" Hardly used sells for 102.95 holds hundreds of spoons & stick baits Will sell for $65.00 Vestal N.Y. 607-725-5576
  2. The launch is open at Tremain but it very shallow...............we launched there today and hung the boat up before we could get to the dock. We finally made it but had to raise the motor and plow through the mud. I would recommend driving the 7 miles to T-Falls unless I had a shallow rig ours is 20' deep V. The fishing was poor the fish seemed to be neutral, we marked plenty and some bait but only boated a few LLs and a laker almost every fish had at least 1 Lamprey on it. Ken
  3. We had the same results last week on Seneca we beat the south end with everything we had. We found plenty of bait but small pockets of fish. We still had a good time so we'll switch to plan B on Cayuga! Ken
  4. I agree Seneca would be my choice, for whatever reason Cayuga has been inconsistant the last few years. We've had more banner days on Seneca than Cayuga. LLs in the 8 to 12 lb class are quite common. You might want to rig up some leadcore the bigger fish are 60 to 100 ft down so the leadcore can cover the upper part of the column. I suggest the west shore by the salt plant. Last year greens and mellon colors worked the best on flys & dodgers! We'll start getting serious after1/1. Ken
  5. I hear ya.....should have done it sooner!
  6. Good meeting you also Steve, the real test will come this winter. This engine has a different sound so after the break in we'll see what happens.
  7. Today was my 3rd outing since early spring. Knee replacement and OB troubles cut into my fishing this year. Mercury finally stepped up to the plate and replaced my OB after a 2 1/2 year struggle with them, so today was more less a break in for the new engine. I launched out of Tremain and set up about 10 am fished north of Sheldrake and only boated wannabe keeper LLs I found plenty of hooks and bait in the 125' depth. Boated south of Willow Creek and got into a pod of small bows in the 14 to 17" class and was able to release them for another day. Even though it wasn't a boosting day it was refreshing to see the small bows hopefully it is a good sign for the future. Regardless it was a great day to be on the water such a late start could have hurt my productivity. Most of the fish came off 10 color leadcore.
  8. I impressed with the story about the fish but I'm more impressed with your concern about the number of rods used!
  9. It was the same for us last year, just to see Joey's face & his excitement was well worth the trip. We did OK but we just couldn't find the silver fish. We had a tough time getting him to quit at 1 PM so I'm sure or he'll be back in 2012. Thanks again Scott for your efforts!
  10. I've had mine for a year & have been pleased with the performance. I did have trouble with the mountng bracket breaking because of the speed of the boat and I've dealt with Treavor Sumptom who has gone out of his was to satisfy me after the warrantry ended without charging me. As for performance it's just another trick in your bag. I was surprised at the difference in currents at different depths and you do save time if your targeting a ertain temperature. Will you catch more fish?.....................can't help with that I caught plenty before I have the unit but as I tell my wife the more you spend the more you catch !
  11. From what we've heard from a local sportsman club in the Southern Tier is that the 3 rod rule is only targeted for Ontario & Erie. I hope I'm wrong
  12. Eskimo Joe at out last tournament! Be careful what you wish for!
  13. We're in........Frisco, Sliderbite & Eskimo Joe
  14. Eskimo Joe has a title to defend...you beeter be free!
  15. I've had both on my lund. I had numerous problems with the Simrad. They backed up their product but it was a pain in the ass bleeding the system. I sold the Simrad & installed the Raymarine which put mechanics into the hydraulic system. PM me I'll let you set my set up. I'm in Vestal Ken
  16. Guys I believe the Troll Master & Control King are 2 differents units. I have the troll Master and I belive they have a bracket for Yamahas. Let me know if I'm wrong!
  17. Thought you would at least have an electric one!
  18. Any of you guys using a Optimax in the winter? I have a 3 year old 175 that steams up in the winter. Mercury has changed the thermostats, heat sensors, & gaskets without success. The problem seems to be the heads overheating until the thermostats open.
  19. We didn't do much better Wednesday, we boated only 8 fish. We stayed deep to avoid the small LLs. I try to stay home on bright sunny days with the lake flat but it's been 3 weeks that I haven't been on the lake so it was still a good day. Six lakers, 1 LL, & a pickeral on the flats. We found the flats unproductive and that was the reason for going to Cayuga hoping to find some browns in shallow water.
  20. Pleasure to meet you! It never fails whenever a day starts bad it just keeps progressing downhill. It was one of the better winters so a off day occasionally is expected!
  21. Thanks for the reports! The last 2 trips to Seneca have been slow for us so Cayuga was our next stop however I hear the mud line is larger than usual this year. I plan to get out during the week so my choice might be seneca again.
  22. Could have been better.......If only we had 500' of COPPER!
  23. Seems to be slowing down on the south end of Seneca, whether the bright days or the fish are moving out is anyones' guess. We landed 4 LLs & 1 laker today all were released! The 50' range was the only part of the column that produced fish, I'm sure the bright sun had much to do with it. It looks like it's time to hit Cayuga, haven't seen any reports from the south end yet!
  24. Andy, We put 7 Lakers, 3 LL, & 1 brown in the box. The bite for us was the best about 8:30 which surprised us because at daylight it has been hot all winter. Looks like the LLs are starting to disperse and more lakers are at the south end. Plan to keep on Seneca for a bit then on to Cayuga. We took one off the top and the rest came from 70 to 90'.
