  1. Have had 17, 18, and 19 aluminum boats in the past, may need to move some other stuff to adjust for a few things but you will be fine with that.
  2. It is a 2008 bought in 2012. Never had oil in it, never fired. So it is brand new with tag on it. I have the extended platinum transferable warranty to 2/2017. Has self contained tank so no need to mess with tapping in fuel line. Never used because a month later I bought a 9.9 four stroke plus I have a couple other small motors. $700.00 Located in Dunkirk, NY
  3. Sylvan/Starcraft/Smokercraft/Starweld or Alumacraft or Crestliner(shown above) or Princecraft or Lowe.
  4. Agreed, I have purchased used reels from Bill and I presume his boat was treated the same as the reels, top notch. And if you walked through any boat shows this winter, sticker shock in the form of the intensive labor costs associated with boat building, the cost of petroleum based fiberglass have sent prices skyward again.
  5. Putting this back up to the top and see what happens.
  6. You need to know what your transom height is. If it is 20 inch or long shaft for your main motor and there is room to mount the kicker on that same transom, you may be able to get away with a 15 inch kicker motor. I have a 19 Sea Nymph now and a 17 Starcraft before that, both with the 20 inch transom and mounted a standard shaft kicker on both. Send me a PM if you want to get into specifics.
  7. If there is a boat show in your area , go to it, it will give you ideas. In your price range with a little looking and some luck you probably can find yourself a decent 16 foot package and it will likely be aluminum. Some of the brands would be Crestliner, Lund, Sylvan, Smokecraft, Starcraft, Lowe, Tracker. A few of the older ones would be Sea Nymph, Grumman, Discovery.
  8. Thompsons are notorious for having stringers go bad. For most of the 80's and into the 90's, they were a company that was struggling financially so some corners were cut.
  9. Gets more and more difficult for the sponsors to get the bigger vendors that would fill the"other room" It was their first year, the venue is excellent, the parking is convenient and accessible etc, all things that help make a show. If they start now and get it in on the first round of calendars and vendors schedules when they are booking next year the main part of the event will fill in. LOTSA did a great job this year making the move.
  10. Glad to make the donation and support LOTSA efforts Mark Forbes Dunkirk Sports Outfitters, LLC.
  11. There are motors out there for sale, especially this time of year. It would be helpful to know what the budget is and where he is located.
  12. 1/21/14-sold pending completion of transaction. Cannon Speed -N- Temp , complete package with the original box $150.00 It has been sitting in the box the past couple years. Just doing some mid winter cleaning of inventory. I will be at the LOTSA marketplace event this weekend as I have a table there so come and look. For anyone else the above price would be plus shipping if I had to ship it. I am located in Dunkirk, NY.
  13. Tohatsu also makes Nissan outboards, same motor and yes they were supplying Mercury for a while.
  14. That is an outstanding deal. And a good deal on the trailer as well. Good luck with the customizing.
  15. 1-2 feet yesterday, Dunkirk, Gowanda, Springville. Snowing hard in Gowanda this morning.
  16. Price reduced to $1250.00 on 11/24/13
  17. updated, edited, price reduced to $1500.00 11/15/13
  18. There are also upper seals that should be looked at as well.
  19. As with any boat of that age, a survey should be done. That being said the Carvers 21-32 all were wide beam boats that packed a lot of room and features into them. And they are reasonably priced on the used market. Always was a quality line and the latest owner shifted to boats over 30 ft.
  20. Crestliner Sabres are aluminum.
