    Hi All, I'm looking for a bait shop near Penn Yan that sells minnows. I'm not familiar with the area and I'm going down there for a few days. Any help would be appreciated. I know that there is a shop in Honeoye but I was wondering if there is anything closer to Penn Yan Thanks.

    I know it's not Lake Ontario but I was wondering if any of you guys have fished the west end of Lake Nipissing in the Mashkinonge area. I am coming up there next month with a group guys from the Rochester, New York area for the first time. We are going to try for pike, walleye and anything else that cooperates. We are going to try using jigs with soft plastics and casting spoons. One of the guys wants to try trolling with his boat. Any tips on what we should use or areas to fish would be greatly appreciated.

    It does except it didn't have that dark tube shape above it. It just looked like a big pillar from the lake surface straight up into the clouds and the clouds were nasty looking.

    Yesterday afternoon we were fishing out of Sandy Creek in Monroe County which is about 20 miles west of Rochester. My buddy was driving the boat heading west while we were trolling. I'm sitting turned around facing east watching the rods while he is driving. For as many times that I have been out fishing, I have never seen anything like this before. I'm looking in the distance at some strange clouds and I see what looks like a cloud that is shaped like a huge pillar. This thing is coming straight down from the clouds to the surface of the lake. It was a long ways off. This was really strange looking. I say to my buddy, Look at this strange cloud coming straight down to the water". He turns around and says to me I hope it's not coming our way, that looks like a water spout. After a short while it just disappeared. Never seen anything like it. I wish I had taken a picture of it

    I have a mold that makes egg sinkers1/2, 3/4. 2,3,5,6 and 8 oz. I was thinking of running a wire through them and twisting the end into a circle and attach planer board clips like a homemade snap weight. I bought a bunch of clips from Russ of Anglers Ave at the Niagara Show 2 years ago. I'm going give them a try this summer. They're not perfectly round so I don't know how they are going to work.

    I can still see his smiling face hanging out the side of the boat at the dock as we would be heading out to the lake. Niagara Show, Sandy Creek Shootout or where ever I ran into him, he always had a smile on his face. He was one of the GREAT ones. Like Whaler said, "missed but not forgotten".

    I'm sorry to hear that your friend passed away.  Did he live on Westside Drive near Pixley Road in Gates?

    This bail reform has to change. There have been cases of criminals dragging people out of their cars, stealing the car, getting into a police chase, crashing the car and given an appearance ticket. Out of state felons committing felonies and given appearance tickets to who never show up in court. Talk to anyone who works in the prison system and they will tell you about the prisoners who have been released that should not have been. Cuomo was bragging last year how New York was the safest state in the country because it had the lowest amount of prisoners in state prisons. That's because he released a lot of them. The Safe Act. The way he snuck that in overnight. What has that done to cut crime. Our crime is worst now that it has ever been.

    Great job Bill. I nick named you the "One man wrecking crew" when we were watching you lifting those docks in the water at Tommy's a few years back. God had you in the right place at the right time.

    If anyone has any used Bert's rod holders they want to sell that are in decent shape, please let me know. I will travel to Buffalo/Niagara Falls, Oswego/Syracuse or southern tier of New York.

    Thanks Keith. I've never owned a hot tub before. Hey, maybe with some gorilla tape I might be able to patch her up. Tommy, how about we set it up at the marina?
