  1. Great looking fish. As always, you have that lake dialed in. Some of the water in the background looks colored. Did the wind get it churned up a little? Cayuga sits down so low compared to the land mass that never seems to see much colored water unless mud after heavy rain
  2. Great stuff. So jealous of all who can take advantage of nice weekdays to fish. My boss, (my wife), Won't let me play hooky.
  3. Who says the fish stop biting during an eclipse!! Well done! With all the rain clouds this week it seems we're in a continual eclipse here ....
  4. Do you have a web link to the article?
  5. Came down 89 this afternoon and after today's rains it's all mud past the South end of lower lake road. Give it a few dry days
  6. After this mornings trip to Ontario I definitely stand by the need for autopilot when running solo. Got out with the sunrise and all systems were go except for the autopilot. Working the shoreline became a major challenge as the waves were coming in at an angle and were just big enough to make it hard to step away from the wheel for very long. If you are hooked on trolling consider either installing an autopilot in your rig or buy a new rig!! And if watching the eclipse from the lake send pics!!
  7. Nicely done! Agreed when trolling solo it's best to have the wind at your back. If you don't have an autopilot I would highly recommend as it makes solo trips much more manageable.
  8. Updated as now 3 reels left. The 3 color is gone
  9. Never seen these before but quite an innovative design. Have you used them and how deployed, (casting, trolling.....)
  10. The 3 color leadcore sold so have 3 Great Lakes Sealine 47 LC's left. 1 rigged with 1 color and 2 rigged with 2 colors of leadcore and 10 lb fluorocarbon leaders. All in good working order and ready to fish. $125 for all 3.
  11. Accudepth 47B and 57B Plus line counter reels loaded with 20 lb Monofilament and fluorocarbon leaders on 8'6" Okuma Convector GL Downrigger rods. $225 for the pair located in Seneca Falls
  12. Accudepth 47B Plus line counter reel spooled with 30 lb wire on a 10 foot Okuma Blue Diamond Wire Line Special MH rod with Twilly Tip. $125 located in Seneca Falls
  13. Over the years I've found using the Cayuga inlet buoy water level is a reliable guide. If at 380 or less depending on the boat, Deans can be pretty tough. The flip side is when under 381, my 24 foot Wellcraft fits under the bridge at Taughannock.
  14. Do you think colors on leadcore are a deterrent to the fish, especially if a long flouro leader?
  15. Appreciate all of your preferences but would like to know if there is any science behind the favorite choices. Any proof that the Stealthcore colors of black and red provide more stealth or the micro core thinner diameter does the same? Or does it really matter what brand used if the flouro leader provides 40 feet of stealth. I'm really wondering if that's the case........
  16. In need of some.leadcore line replacement so asking for thoughts on different brands, sizes. Been using Suffix 27lb since starting with cores and no real complaints. Does their 832 Advanced have advantages? Are other brands all about the same or do certain ones really provide more stealth and if so, does it really matter if running a 40-50 foot leader. Appreciate any dialogue offered.
  17. Sounds like a nice day on the water. Fishing on a weekday.......a reason to look forward to retirement!
  18. Agreed. Looking like a domestic dog to me. How far from civilization is that camera?
  19. Have had the unit 3 years now and use it pretty steadily. No issues until a couple months ago had to replace the seal gasket but a simple swap out. Don't know cost as a few years ago so check their site. Obviously avoid the lesser unit that Gator has issues with.
  20. Congratulations on a great hunt. Be interesting to know if a big difference in flavor of those Texas deer knowing their diet is so different from what the Western/Fingerlakes whitetails eat.
  21. Really enjoyed the video! Congratulations on his first buck!
  22. Beautiful fish. Nice to see as it seems recent Skaneateles posts have been all about walleye. Hope the Lakers and Bows stay strong there!!
