  1. You don't need 100 dollar rods for wire dipsies. Accudepth rods are 35 bucks. Put a twill tip on them its 7 bucks. Get a convector 30 reel.those are 75 new. Wire is 40 bucks and your ready. Leadcore isn't very versatile. 10 colors will only get you down 50 ft max and that's being generous. You could run a double core but that's about as much fun as bass fishing. Look around here. Sooner or later reels will pop up [ Post made via Android ]
  2. No such thing as cheap when fishing great lakes salmon. All good recommendations here. But Riggers are no good without a fishfinder. Get a fishfinder. You can run 4 divers easy. [ Post made via Android ]
  3. Sharks. Order off their website and they aren't that much [ Post made via Android ]
  4. From your spinny or echip to your fly run 50lb flouro. Real flouro, not the cheap stuff. Its stiff and gives better whip. Also try and store your fly leaders straight as possible. Wrapping them around the spinny put kinks in it. People say it doesnt matter, but it does. [ Post made via Android ]
  5. I have saltist 30 for my rigger rods they are awesome. Tekota 600's for my wire rods. What a step up from convectors and sg47's [ Post made via Android ]
  6. I've heard both. Also heard that the reason for running shorter leaders for staging salmon was because it makes the bigger fish kip at the fly likes its kipping at the tail of a smaller fish telling him back of the line [ Post made via Android ]
  7. Mid summer I like to get about 120 ft of wire out then let it creep. When running 2divers. When running four ,ill get inside divers creep both sides while I get a copper out. Then let the high divers go. This yr has been a little different. Cause usually a rigger will pop before you get to any of that. Lol [ Post made via Android ]
  8. I do mine same as above. But you can go in any order you want [ Post made via Android ]
  9. Go with something that can handle 15 lb weights at least. I would get shark weights if I was you. My 12lb sharks have alot less blowback then 15lb torpedos. My first yr running sharks but my Riggers have kept up with the divers and copper this yr. Usually my divers out fish my Riggers 5 to 1. But this has been a awesome season so maybe that has something to do with it. [ Post made via Android ]
  10. Hds 5 with a airmar p66 works great for me. The elite 5 has a 200 or 300 ft max depth so I would stay away from that [ Post made via Android ]
  11. Yuuuup. Don't even try without wire [ Post made via Android ]
  12. For flies greencrinkle, hammer, tg, proam glow ,uv 109. For echips white glow, and mtn dew/ glow. Spinny in gator, and white green dot. Those will get you started catching fish [ Post made via Android ]
  13. Wd-40 has never changed [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Yup get a green dot and marry it to a hammer fly. Also get a white e chip / glow and marry that to a pro am glow fly. Those are your morning ff combos. About 9am or so switch the slower one out to that rattlesnake. [ Post made via Android ]
  15. Can you reel in kings quicker if you have a fishing jersey on? [ Post made via Android ]
  16. The 3 fly rigs on atommik's website with the whole bait head are awesome. They run awesome. Perfect roll, I believe they are jon king bait heads. They work great. Just pin the treble so the hook points are just past the tail and it has a perfect slow wide roll [ Post made via Android ]
  17. Either wrap about 25 ft of mono on. then wire or wrap a vol wraps of wire on the spool then tape it.I run a 10bead mm bead then tie a wire knot to a bigger snapswivel like from a spindoc. Magnas are not the greatest reels and will be in rough shape after a few dipsy rips. I just switched my wire reels from sg47's and convector 30's to tekota 600's and what a difference. Wire never gets that cross spool from the levelwind. Night and day difference. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. I run blacks with fleaflicker and have no issues. My release are set at about 4lbs [ Post made via Android ]
  19. I was waiting til Sunday to spring that. Lol [ Post made via Android ]
  20. How far down did you have your Riggers? I usually throw the spoon out first to make sure its tracking then attach it. But could be a fish hit it. Can't believe you wouldn't see it though [ Post made via Android ]
  21. Woodys in port Ontario is where I got mine. But that was last year [ Post made via Android ]
  22. How is it getting hung on in your rigger release? You are putting your line in the release then sending it down, then putting your free slider on right? [ Post made via Android ]
  23. They are all good. I love my hds but the bird is a great unit too. Certain ones can't be upgraded though so if your going with a bird I think you would want the 900 series or better. Hds is full upgradeable. Sat radio, weather, radar, and all the structure scan stuff. Chevy ford debate. [ Post made via Android ]
