  1. I fished out of buckboardjr's 195 sea nymph in 5 footers and was very impressed! It put my Lowe to shame. Boat was a lot deeper V. [ Post made via iPhone ]

  3. 3 rods off the otter boats per side in a v formation. 80-120 ft back. All stick baits of various colors, sizes and diving depth with front hook removed. Run 15 ft of 15 lbs floro as a leader off my 8' 3" ugly stik rigger rods that are spooled with 20 lbs mono. Got a few spring kings this way too. 2.0 sog give or take. Might run small spoons off the riggers if I fish deeper than 10 ft. Fire tiger and black/silver with orange belly seem to be the hot colors. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  4. He's friends with one of the guys I work with. I didn't hear anything about a record...but wouldn't be surprised. Friggin thing is a monster. Caught it in Oneida lake. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  5. I too like the big game. 20 with a 10 ft floro leader for spoons. 30 for attractors. But i string up the flea flicker around mid June and never look back. It's the only line you won't get fleas on. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  6. I think any roller rod with a high speed reel will be a big upgrade. I also found the 10 ft ugly stik diver rods to be user friendly for a non-roller rod. The starfires def wear you out. I'd love to try out one of those rapala rods mark keeps mentioning. But we ain't got no Canadian tire in NY! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  7. It doesn't really matter. I've used tap water, iodized salt and white sugar. They still turn out great. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. I dissolve 1 cup salt and 2 cups brown sugar in a quart of hot water. Let water cool to slightly warm. Throw the eggs in and let them soak for 20 minutes. Then freeze in disposable plastic Tupperware. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  9. Shimano Talora roller rod with a Daiwa saltist 30 reel [ Post made via iPhone ]
  10. What mark said is good advice. But you can't buy those rapala rods in the usa. A cheaper alternative would be 10 ft eagle claw starfire, okuma blue diamond or ugly stik. Add Twilly tips. Go with daiwa sealine 47lc reels. 1000 ft of wire fits perfect. I believe the convectors need backing to get a good fit. If you dont fill the reel completely your line counter wont be as accurate. I would run 30 lbs mono for your leader between dipsey and flasher. It has more stretch (more forgiving/cheaper) than floro. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  11. Lol, should of left it for the mailman. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  12. Can you launch any place else on the salmon river? [ Post made via iPhone ]
  13. You will mark a bunch of fish...getting them to bite is the hard part! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  14. Start watching your fish finder at 60 and make a decision of when to drop lines. We marked a ton yesterday and went 1-1. Fished all day. King hit a j-plug fished right off bottom in 110 fow. Been really slow for a couple days. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  15. According to their website: "is a much smaller diameter...but the same weight per foot!" [ Post made via iPhone ]
  16. Go with scent! Salmon hammer, gulp, garlic, herring. They all help. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  17. You can buy a line counter that goes on your rod. I just tied up a few. Used spro swivels for all connections. Tied in 15 ft of 30 lbs big game to hook the release too. Used haywire twist and improved clinch knots. If you already have backing on your reel. Hook the copper up and reel till its full. I don't measure it. I just switched to blood run which is a slightly smaller diameter. My 300 might be a 350. My 500 might be a 570. But they catch fish. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  18. Buck you can take the Bert's off, add another or move them around. The big Jon's are there for eternity. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  19. Yup...most stuff from west marine is over-priced junk! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  20. They were working yesterday! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  21. Thanks again for taking me out! Had a blast!! You said you weren't much of a drinker...so I didn't want you to have to carry it home! Lol [ Post made via iPhone ]
