Buy Dan Keating's books on Great Lakes Trolling and Keating on Kings. Twenty bucks each and well worth the price in knowledge, The guy is good and the books are very easy reading.

Spoons off the downriggers, stick baits off the boards, long leads, stealth presentation w/ flocarbon leader 10-12 lb test. Shallow in the morning (6-10 ft) of H2O. Take it deeper as the sun comes up.Always troll with the sun at your stern early and late. Natural colors unless in stained waters. Only takes a few doubles and a full cooler and you'll get it right. Are you sure the freeze plugs had been put in prior to your maiden voyage??? I did that once will my Islander and realized the freeze plugs hadn't been put in. Just a thought.

We fish Lake Ontario every year twice or more for 30 years for a week at a time, have a million lures in which a dozen work. We also fish Sebago lake in Maine, somewhat similar to Senneca Lake. If we want to consistently catch fish on Sebago we have to use BAIT,sewed on. It's an art form but it works. Maybe you should try it, just a sugestion. Good luck. Another bit of advice.... Could always remove the freeze plugs just to be safe. Don't forget to put them back in before you launch....

Bought my Dream Boat last fall. A 2009 Baha Cruiser 252 GLE Hardtop. 350 Merc I/O Mag multi port injected. Will troll down to 1 mile per hour without bags on the main engine. Put a 2012 Merc 4 stroke 15 hp long shaft for trolling, can troll all day on 5 gal of gas. Best Feature, it's trailerable,roomy and looks good...........PD

Don't sell yourself short here, these units are unavailable to purchase at present time for whatever reason, I have one on my boat and it works flawlessly. You can get TOP dollar for this unit.FYI
