  1. Strange. I have a 2001 Superfisherman 196. It's the driest hull I've ever seen. 24 volt battery system under the consoles up front. The boat is built like a tank. Must have moved manufacturing to China sometime after 2001. Lol
  2. Everyone that hunts long enough will wound a deer. It happens. Sometimes it's beyond our control, sometimes it's very much within our control. I've finished two deer with my knife after spine shots. One was an awkward angle shot where I kind of twisted my body around the tree to make the shot (my fault). Another was a deflection off a branch while sitting on the ground in the middle of an oak hardwoods. I felt for the animals but also knew what had to be done to feed my family. My son was with me for the ground shot and thank god he has a killer instinct and wasn't affected by the scene that unfolded. Hunting is a way of life for us as we harvest and eat at least 5 deer each year, most if not all harvested with our bows. Sometimes our quarry has a less than perfect demise, but you have to move past it, fill the freezer, and learn from it.
  3. Look into a 24v or 36v bow mount with I pilot. I use the minn Kota terrova on the bow of my 19' superfisherman as autopilot along with my main for thrust
  4. I heard a bunch of fish moved in to the 60-80' range. I've been to the bar twice in the last two weeks and can tell you it's absolutely loaded with fish. We caught a bunch of kings over 20# last week and this Thursday we did well until the weeds coming out of the river made it impossible to keep lines clear. All flies and meat.
  5. Got a batch of the brined salmon smoking now. From the lake to the smoker, to the brine, to the smoker. Doesn't get much better.
  6. The coyote in first pic was caught in a hay set with both traps. Big pissed off male. I caught the fox in the same set 3 days earlier. Try the hay set out in and open field. It's deadly
  7. I wish we could use snares here but we're stuck with footholds. I try to do my part after deer season is over to reduce the population.
  8. You'll love the extinguisher and black rack. I wouldn't go in the woods without them and my Antler Ice after November 1st
  9. Bar was good this morning. Made the run from Wilson in the dark. Kept 5 over 20#. 27 was the biggest. Dropped 6 and broke one off. Flies and meat.
  10. Sounds fun, hopefully they are still hungry. I'm launching at Wilson in an hr and running out to the bar. Probably set up around four mile too.
  11. Welcome to the site. A ton of info here and everyone is always willing to help. I spend some time sitting on honeoye in the winter months myself, but not as much as I would like during the open water season.
  12. Once you play with the settings and learn the difference between 200 kHz and 83 kHz, there's not much it won't tell you.
  13. Love my elite 7 hdi. Does everything stated above. The chirp I'm not familiar with though.
  14. I use a Taurus Raging Bull in .480 Ruger. 325 gr Hornady xtp's put a hell of a hole in the deer. 1-4x scope and a solid rest and I've taken deer out to 100 yds. But where I really like it is late season when we are driving deer. Crawling through the brush with my handgun is much better than dragging my shotgun around
  15. We all better start taking more lakers out of the water or that's all we will have to fish for. Nobody travels hundreds of miles to catch lake trout. It's all about the Kings.
  16. I release them in my garden. The vegetables love them
  17. I hate combat fishing as well. It's a blast if you anchor at night and cast moonshines on light tackle.
  18. That is a version of a spin n glow. Talk to Gambler on here. He makes them very similar
  19. Doesn't look too bad. http://www.backbaymarina.com/backbay-marina-webcam/ Wunderground is calling for 1-3 with a Chance of thunderstorms.

A gold goby hatchet blade with gold beads has been stellar for me this year.
  21. Torpedo 19 strand wire smoke color. 1000' will last forever.
  22. I agree. Fish your marks. I can find thermocline by turning sensitivity way up on my fish finder, but that doesn't mean the fish will be in there. I always start my spread up high and bring it down as the day goes on. We did three matures in the first 30 minutes last time out and all came on the 35' and 45' riggers.
  23. 2.5 gps speed is a good starting point. I'll speed it up a bit or slow it down until the fish tell me how fast they want the baits. I have the drag set light on my divers so I hear the slightest change in speed. As long as my rods are bent correctly, and they are straight behind the boat, I'm good.
  24. That's a nice day. You'll be selling your bass boat and buying a deep v in no time. Lol
