  1. Boom. Looks like I've got some to send back. Great info and thank you for taking the time to post pics. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. My update was from Bass Pro' tonight actually, when you call Bass Pro they direct you to Tracker for pricing. And yes, it was a manual 20 inch 8hp 4 stroke. I'm not saying I couldn't find a cheaper price somewhere else, but I would def look forward in hearing the store / name your getting a 1200.00 price from. You can pm me if you want. 3. Just an update on the Mercury pricing, I read that the long shaft was on sale at Bass Pro for 1200.00. That was one heck of a price, today's current price at Tracker who supplies all of the locations quoted me 2125.00 plus tax (170.00) for an 8hp manual 20 inch. That's over 1k difference, what a sale that must of been. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  4. Damn nice, you mine Paul if I borrowed that to stare at it for like the next two months....... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Chas, I agree with the Arneys suggestion as well. Plus I don't think you would get your boat in at Warrens.
  6. From years past with doing fall electroshocking in some of the bigger tribs it was not uncommon to see a laker, a brown, or even a pike make it upstream. I'm not surprised, and I would think the food source being totally different than in the lake, she was starving, insects, minnows, and eggs are not much for a hungry laker that normally feeds on lbs of sawbellys daily. Les and others are spot on with normal spawning occurring out in the lake on the gravel shoals. Not sure if she was released but she would make it back I'm sure. 7. Damn nice fish, I got to get out, I aint gonna make it till spring........
  8. My resolution is to not hop around as much this year, hence ho I got my name, " don't move from a spot that has fish"!
  9. I think you might also be able to get a out of town permit as well but that was when I was a resident up there. Not sure if they still have them. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Happy New Year! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Mostly Muskie, I'm not sure I missed the point, I read several posts not supporting a fishing event for worry of removing larger size pike from NYS waterways?... If this is not the issue, I apologize, if this is in fact the point, then I think I'm understanding it correctly. I won't get into a never ending dispute about it so if you feel Conesus is endangered so be it. I just get frazzled when some are more worried about the fish than the lack of sportsman that help put them there in the first place. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  12. I agree with some of the comments on what is a frustrating topic to me. It's funny that I don't see these types of comments regarding other derbies / tournaments that catch a bunch of fish, heck for that matter I still see negative comments on local Bass tournaments and they are catch and release...... Your gonna have to settle on your not going to make everyone happy. Kudos to you and the supporters for having a state wide event. I hope that it grows In participation, fun, and gets more and more kids, people in the outdoors. It's funny, a guy told me why are you releasing that laker back into the lake (12br) one derby, I said to keep some balance for the breeders. He tells me that the lake is not a breeding lake and that its a stock only lake, and that there's too many lakers in the lake yet that same person complained about people fishing for lakers on the pier during the spawning last fall. Uggggg. Let's not loose sight of the big picture, we need more sportsman in our world gang, if we're concerned about depleting the pike population due to 55? fisherman? Who's asking the question to DEC that we need more pike fingerlings to stock? Isn't that a good thing? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  14. I've had a problem when putting on the weights and letting it in the water where the cable rides up over the wheel. Would anyone have a pic of the old vs new? Mine were bought 2012 and 2013 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Kevin, we were out on Seneca, only a few divers not many mallards where we were, couple big rafts of reds but that was about it. I'm guessing the lack of ice isn't helping. There was some shooting on the east side, but may be in the fields after geese. Was good to get out though. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  19. For what ever it's worth, I've adjusted the clutch lightly so that when it stops it's slips just enough so that it doesn't kick. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  22. Damn Dan, am I gonna turn on the Sportsman channel and see you on your own outdoor show, if not you sure could have one, awesome fish, got to be a cool feeling to go from the stand to the back of that boat...... Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  23. Some questions one might ask first, is your main motor an outboard that can pull start if needed? Do you troll with your main so that it's charging? Do you venture out in finger lakes or ontario? How often do you find yourself draining your battery now? Do you have a kicker motor? These might help you answer your own question. A second battery adds weight but can be truly needed based on above questions. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Hey way to go. That had to be awesome. What beach were you on? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. Hey Les, I was helping with the blind today couldn't help notice how clear the water was. I'm sure the flatness and clarity didn't help. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
