Rigged up my two dr rods with30lb big game and tied my first Albright knot using about 12 feet of flouroclear leader. Was prett easy really. Ran 18lb leader. Overkill for my lake but wanna get used to the rods etc.

I took one charter on Lake O awhile back. was a good boat a good captain etc. No complaints. was interesting though as we met the Captain on the dock next to his boat. we waited for oh maybe 5 minutes. He kept saying "My Mate" should have been here already...said it over and over, then it was the well, Iwill try calling...nothing..then he says well, we have to head out...I kind of figured that he knew all along that his mate wasent gonna show up..which the three of us on the charter didnt really care. We helped navigate and let lines out etc.. He also got a tip, $100

nah, not worth it. go with the base combo..GPS and finder. Unless you are bass fishing, not worth it in my opinion

I bought 18ln Trilene 100% fluorocarbon leader line. I also bought some of the Pline Flouroclear 12 lb. I will run rod length so like 10' of leader material connecting to the big game 30# line. Have to look into what knot I will use.

Yeah, my Islander came with a very old Eagle unit. has to be early 90's. Still works but the off button no longer works so I have to unplug it from the back each time. Resolution sucks. I am thinking about mounting it in the stern though someplace since it is all wired and using it back there just to show depth for whoever is working the riggers once I can afford to get my new Elite 7

I have looked into them. My research has told me to stick with the base unit. I am looking into them and will get the standard GPS//Finder unit.
