  1. Question- Do you have to pay to use the launch there? Looks like on the map the main entrance to the park is seperate from the entrance to the launch? Just thinking here. Second question, are there any signs in the parking lot indicating that you cannot stay in your rv at the launch..thinking pulling the boat with the (small RV 24') launching with the RV of course pakring the RV While on Boat, then reloading the boat on RV and parking in parking lot staying in the RV overnight..Just curious.
  2. Post updates as to the fleas. I am hearing some reports that they are starting to show up!
  3. nybuck50 I am in the same boat! had my heart set on the Lowrance but dont know if that is the way I am going now. I have always had Humminbird and have never had an issue
  4. I would love to hear more on preferred make of flies as well as preferred colors
  5. Always wondered why some spoons come with single hooks and some with trebles? IS this just preference or what? Also, where can you get these Mauler spoons??
  6. I was just given a pair of these downriggers. Do not have a book with them. Wondering what lb ball I can use? I have one 12lb ball and that is all at the moment
  7. why such a short amt of time? Ends at 1pm?
  8. Nobody answered my bleeding question. Do you just slit the gills to bleed the fish if you are gonna keep it?
  9. HAHA..yeah..I figured with the size and style of that rig that that was the "floating camp" as well. My home lake, the Great Sacandaga, the marinas are full of larger boats from folks that basically rent a slip, dock their boat and live on it for the weekends or weeks. Pretty neat. They have quite the pad when they get their faux grass carpets layed out on the dock, potted plants etc. Hey, dont have to pay property taxes or the upkeep of a property! My kind of livin!
  10. bobs_boy, so do you stay on the boat while you are up at Lake O?
  11. Mortigan, that sounds great. I love chowder and hell I am a native Adirondacker...The Great lakes trolling book that I have read 3x now says that early season spring Coho is the best eating fish..?
  12. My statement was that I dont hear about anyone commenting on eating the Kings and whether or not they are good. I didnt mean that they arent good. Like I said, I have never had one out of Lake O so I have no opinion yet
  13. I put 90% of the fish back in the lake. THe only time that I actually keep a fish is if I am gonna eat it that same day,. Truthfully I have never had a fish out of Lake O. I also never hear of anyone on this board say that "man the King I kept last night was awesome table fare"...??
  14. No kidding. I haven't been up there in a few years actually for one reason or another. Kind of got tired of catching non legal lakers. Spent some time on Indian with better luck at some decent sized fish out in front of the marina
  15. what is the going rate out there on Lake O? Around here its $4.20 or so a gallon
  16. Do you have a link to more pics of Ruff Rider? I like the back area of that boat
  17. Kind of funny cause we target lakers on a few adk lakes. Particularly Piseco. I am not much liking to eat them cause they are super fishy but I have heard that you should boil them in saltwater basically poaching them.. Basically takes the strong flavor out of them? Havent tried it but makes sence. Another thing, more of a question, when you land a fish and are planning on making a meal out of it, I have heard that you should slit their gills to bleed them?
  18. What is the make of those pink rods and is that a special order?
  19. Ok thanks! Dang, dont see them listed in the Legacy section of canon's website. I need to get one of the matching swivel bases. One has one on it, the other doesnt...I guess they are Mag 104's?
