  1. if pulling more then 300' copper,i would run the dual keels.another thing to consider is storage, they do take up alot of room,if you are fishing from a smaller boat,it may be tough to find a spot to store them, other then that they work great,we pull 500 copper on them and have pulled smaller coppers in 4 footers with no problem.
  2. how is this related to fishing???????

  7. mikes marina has 2 cabins they rent.right on the little salmon river.i believe you get a dock space with cabin rental.we just stayed in one this past weekend.for more info.you can google mikes marina in mexico or give beth a call during the week, they are not there full time in the winter,so if she does not answer, leave a message.315-963-3119.
  8. best value for line counters is what you already have, the magdas are good reels, that hold up just fine.i have some that are 5 years old now and still work just fine,i think I have had 1 drag go bad, sent it to tuna toms and it was fixed for 10 bucks.i did what you are looking to do and bought a bunch of convectors, they are good reels also, but they didn't put any more fish in the boat,so stick with what you have and spend that money on something else, just my 2 cents.
  9. same here,i have a dozen on my boat,i have not had any problems.

  12. Hit the water at 9 and by noon still had not moved a rod.fished from Selkirk to Brennan beach from 10 to 70 fow.fog was starting to get thick,so we started to head back toward the little River, popped a small brown at Selkirk pier, then about 15 minutes later we tripled, got them all back in the water turned around went back through and popped another one.4 on sticks and 1 on a spoon.see what tomorrow brings.

  15. like the chief said as far as fishing goes, what happened last year means nothing for this year.as far as sandy pond goes,if your boat is less then 20 feet, you should be o.k.but the channel changes from day to day depending on west wind storms.its all sand,so you wont ding a prop, but you may have to get out of your boat to get it off a sand bar.
  16. hey dan, bring your boat up,we took a ride out to the lake today,we pull into mexico point and there sits a truck and trailer, the lake was dead flat,i was drooling myself.so we sat there for a bit and in comes the boat with 4 guys on it,was hoping to get a fishing report, but once they got the boat on the trailer, they started unloading guns instead of poles!!!!!
