  1. I used to run a 6hp Suzuki on my 18.5 sylvan. Married with a control king that setup was money.
  2. Reconyx if you can afford it opt for the one that emails you every time it takes a picture, pretty cool. To rich for my blood though.
  3. I think running the sub off the amp and the speakers of the radio is the way to go. Straight forward and that way you shouldn't over power your speakers. At least that's how we used to do it back in the run dmc days.
  4. Take a picture and dimensions to any vinyl sign manufacturer in your local area. You will likely leave with exactly what you are looking for
  5. It's foolish to think that this won't lead to a permanent obstruction being put In place to prevent anyone from fishing anywhere near this stuff ever again. Look what has happened on the tribs. Access gets taken away. Not only from all of us but from our children and grandchildren. Also if you think that your admissions here on this forum can't and won't be used against you in court your foolish and fool hardy. Just do us all a favor and abide by the rules. I have no problem with people going to jail or being fined for breaking the law I have a big problem with other people privileges being revoked because of the inconsiderate actions of a few.
  6. Thanks for the explanation. I agree with soldering is king.
  7. Use blind rivets. I ordered mine from McMaster Carr. You will need a big river gun which you can pick up for about 30 or so if I remember correctly. McMaster has rivets that are solid on the backside coat with 5200, insert, pop and that's it.
  8. That's a screaming deal. They list for 2300+ in the new cabelas catalogue. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't .........
  9. Meant to say repaint it at the end of this season.
  10. Yeah it is a real bad combo. I have a 91 Sabre, a little slower on the resto than I was on my sylvan. Love the boat, hoping to repair it at the end of this season. You planning on painting yours?
  11. There is a ton of aluminum boat restoration info on the Iboats forum. If you go to Iboats.com tons of knowledgable folks as well. I got most of the info from there when I redid my sylvan.
  12. You do not want to use pressure treated lumber in an aluminum boat. It will react with the aluminum and eat holes in it. If you bought marine grade ply which the cost leads me to believe you did. It should not be pressure treated.
  13. I have two canon unitrolls. Not so much that I want to turn mine into electrics but looking at yours, the dollar figure presented, and my constant desire for cool projects. Figured I'd gather a little Intel and build them out as time and money permits. I appreciate you design and ambition!
  14. I know you said local deal only but check out Madds poor mans rod holders. I think it's 60 bucks for a triple tree. They will ship much lower than the web says it's worth giving them a call.
  15. RSF. Do you have a parts list and schematic you'd be willing to share?
  16. Another quick suggestion lay painters plastic down where you want to poor. It will act as the dam you need and keep the foam where you want it. If I were to do it again I would poor with the floors out. I poored with my floors installed last time by using a hole saw to open areas. You couldn't get the floors back up if you had to after that the foam adhered to the wood.
  17. Jamestown distributors sells some good stuff and has some informative videos. Make sure you dam off any areas you don't want it. It will flow where ever it can.
  18. Looks like your buddy has on a GORUCK TAC hat, any idea if that's the case?
  19. Would leaving the light on work?
  20. If $ is an issue checks out Madds poor mans rod holders and trees. Call them as shipping is cheaper than advertised. http://www.madsdocks.com/shop/Item/pmpoletree
  21. Nautolex marine vinyl flooring. Look of carpet all the advantages of vinyl. Used it on my sylvan. Great stuff. http://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?path=-1%7C2276179%7C2276198%7C2276202&id=23612
