Spent most of the morning targeting browns in close . Never had a hit in there . Did the North south thing for a while out to 160 and back . . Got a small salmon , and 2 more hits . Also another beauty of an Atlantic about 10 # . Can't bring myself to target Lakers , or at least yet . Temp was all over the place . One minute it's 62 , the next it's 48 , then it's 50 . Not stable at all . By next weekend it should straighten out , I hope . A little disappointed in my home port brethren . Only 2 other boats out I saw . Lake was nice today , what's up ?

Definitely not as good for us today Got 2 real nice Atlantic's both around 8 or 9 #. 1 flew about 3 ft out the water . A few small salmon and a few more bites . Lot of crap floating around where we were . Tomorrow is another day .

First day out of the home port . Started early till 1030 100 to 140 down 70 to 90 Spoon bite mostly with a few hits on flasher with my rigs . 10 for 17 hits All Salmon . Kings and Cohos a few skips Our biggest

Well all I can say is this is a , " watch out what you wish for type of thing ". Fast forward to April 1 of next year . A lot of fathers who's fathers took them will be taking their kids to go fishing , like they did every year since the begining of time . And what will they say about this development? Their kids won't be able to do what they did as a right of spring . And questions will be asked as to why . And you can bet that TU will be the ones being the scapegoat , right or wrong . TV cameras on crying kids is all that's needed to make TU look bad . And I'm sure their will be no shortage of angry fathers ready to sound off. And with social media , the sky is the limit . Don't mess with fathers children . And If ever there was a day for a protest , that is it . I got nothing but love for you Dave , but I would talk to some people .

Yeah , this seems like a dumb idea. Anything that gets kids fishing , and being successful is good for the fishery . It's close to a population center so the masses can enjoy it .And maybe some kids get the bug , and turn into us

When we were at Wilson for the LOC We hit 3 logs trolling There was all kinds of stuff out there.

If I remember correctly , my Mag 10s I had late 80s auto stop worked when the ball broke the surface. It also has a lexan thing with a snap swivel on one end you had use so rigger could sense when ball broke the surface . Loved my Mag 10s . Great rigger , fast enough . I just wore them out

Really , are we a worried about dragging your sinker across the bottom . For crying out loud . And might suggest a healthy dose of bourbon for that headache . You know , for medicinal purposes.

Well i certainly hope so . That would mean there are a good amount of Kings around . Which currently isn't the case , for whatever reason. I feel I'm a pretty fair fisherman and have things figured out with these trout and salmon pretty well . But one thing I haven't figured out is how to catch them when they aren't around.

Curious to see how good this jigging thing is this year . Last year there were kings all over . Doesn't look like that's the Case this year.

We need a serious north west wind for a few days to straighten things out

Was the water gun clear ? Way back when we use to go offshore and look for scum lines and temp breaks . Does anyone do this anymore ?
