  1. We fished 65 to 85 this morning We went 5 for 7. 3 small kings , a steelhead , and an almost board worthy brown . All riggers 60 to 70 . Frog was best
  2. I fish a few ADK lakes quite a bit over the years for Bass and Pike . My experience is they are generally rocky. Find weeds and you find fish ..Usually where small run off steams carry sediment down from the mountains . I would throw spinnerbaits and in line big mepps over the weeds . I also fish 3 to 5" senkos on jig heads on the weed edges and dropoffs . Colors would be brass blades and black and red or orange . Black Fury is good. For plastics dark colors .Black , green pumpkin, watermelon red flake . The water is tanic or tea stained . Good luck
  3. So I was doing the row boat bass thing before dark and got an about 8# Atlantic on a jig . Hit like a ton of bricks and I thought it was going to spool me . Left camera at the cottage
  4. Maybe get some European style hinges and some Blum undermount soft close drawer slides . Maybe finish it with some Spar Urethane like Helmsman
  5. Bass I have been catching are puking up smaller alwive. The same size and color as a Helsinki Ghost #7 Shad Rap
  6. I pulled an old colman metal ice chest out of someone's garbage , took the driver's seat out and used that for my seat and tackle box . It rusted and I found another one , same thing and did it again . Nice job though. It looks like you took your time on it . And that coming from a guy who is a professional trim carpenter since 1979 and made my share of built-ins , fireplace mantels etc . Not what I want to do when I come home .
  7. I also found with the last one I bought that the main arm was very tight crushing down on the 1/4 tubing . I had to really push it into locked position and crank down the screw to hold it. I did not like that so I bent the arm a little so it was like my other one . Problem solved .
  8. If it makes you feel better , I have been getting a fair amount down where I fish in the 6 to 10" range . I find they are generally in different spots than the bigger ones .
  9. Just for you entertainment and inquisitive knowledge , I was fishing Bass Fri night at Sandy and and got a good look at a 6# silver, steelhead or coho, jump about 15 ft off the end of the jetty . I got a real good look at it .
  10. I have one Im not a big fan It's heavy and pulls hard . It does get down deep though . I bought a # Chinook diver that gets as deep .
  11. What could possibly go wrong ?
  12. They paid 250 k for the Titanic experience. Looks like they got it.

    Bass tournament

IMO , this just sets a bad example . I was under the assumption that the law states you must unhook an out of season fish and immediately release it. No pic , no weigh . And I know there are guys who fish the beds . And other than the St Lawrence ( I think) you can C& R Bass out of season . I catch a lot of out of season Bass . But to have what amounts to a swarm of locusts converge on a lake for a week during closed/ spawning season is just wrong .Sets a bad example . They couldn't wait a few weeks till the season is open .The DEC and Finger lakes think this is a good idea ? There are some southern lakes that have multiple tournaments every week on them and the Bass fishing has gone from great to terrible on them because of it . A lot of fish die from the stress. So they ruin the lakes down there and they want to do it up here ? These are not stocked fish , it takes what , 6 years to grow a keeper size Bass .
  14. Let me preface this by saying I catch and release a lot of Bass this time of year . How is it that there is a Bass tournament on Cayuga lake when Bass season is closed and it's spawning season ? How does the DEC allow this ? And how do tournament organizers with good conscience think this is a good idea ?
  15. Good day to mow the lawn
  16. Just because you mark fish doesn't mean they are trout or salmon Could be Bass or perch or whatever .
  17. Looks pretty dark blue as it comes out of the Niagara to me . And disapates as the prevailing west to east current carries it down.
  18. This pic confirms what I thought was happening for years from spring till the thermocline sets up . That plume disapates the farther east it gets and peters out around devils nose at the farthest west . Do you want to know why the spring king fishery is so good west ? Look at that picture .
  19. That looks like the plume of the Niagara river to me
  20. The little ones sure looked happy on the way in and out of the channel
  21. That is typical of a bad coil . Runs good cool and after it heats up, it just dies . Then it cools and runs again . Check all coils for little cracks . Run in driveway after dark and look for arcing under the flywheel and sparkplug wires .
  22. So Must be you have spark on all cylinders if you tore the carbs apart .
  23. Nice of them to take care of business. But sounds to me they are selling a defective product .
  24. Looks to me like the cylinder is not firing . Probably electrical is my guess . If it was carburetion or fuel delivery , it would run rough and smoke when you first changed the plug. Clean the plug good switch it with a good cylinder and run it to see what happens . Check for spark
