  1. Once they are out of the package I can't tell glow from UV, so I have no idea. Tried to mark the glows with a "G" with a marker. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Well let's face it, the stream run Kings don't fight half as hard as the lake ones. I caught a few two years ago in the Genesee river. No comparison. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Last Saturday NOAA said it would be calm. We had 3 to 5 footers. Windy App said a foot or less too. Both were wrong. I guess there's no reliable source. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I was there Saturday the 8th. Fishing was no good for us. 3 to 5 foot waves. We fished deeper. I have a bad habit of starting at 150 or 170 and trolling north hoping to find them. I think I miss them too often when they are shallow. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. That's what I did. Bought a fish hawk x4 within a week. The TD doesn't cut it. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Yeah really. Many days I've caught fish and never marked fish or bait all day! I like both my FF and FH however. If you don't have a FF, maybe try fluctuations of your speed and 45 degree or more cable angle. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I usually run about 30 feet of leader behind the lite bite slide diver. I use wire, but with a section of monofilament spliced in Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Yes, I think you'll be happy. I have it. I usually use regular mode, but I do have hunt mode and find it is a useful option. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Well, I tried sardines two years ago. Boraxed them. Brined them. They were soft. But I started with the frozen ones so that's probably why. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. My first year fishing Salmon, I was using 15 # line for tippets. After losing about $100 worth of gear, I began using minimum 20 lb and usually 30 lb leaders, all flourocarben, and very few breakoffs now. I stay away from p-line. No luck at all with it. 11. the way your transom is designed to extend past where the big motor is attached, this may be a challenge. Looks like a couple options nay work. The basic ez steer bar I have is adjustable to be pretty long, so it would probably work. Maybe another option is to attach the bar from the back of the cavitation plates of both motors. Lastly, you could fabricate an extension arm that goes back from the big motor 6 I he's or a foot, whatever you need. I hope that makes sense. If the regular attachment points won't work, that is what I would do: extend the little arm that goes back from the main motor. In one picture I am pointing to the arm you could extend out farther, I necessary. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. We did no good really. Lake was rough with 3 t 4 footers out of the Northeast. We caught 3 shakers and one 12 pounder which we lost at the boat. Started straight out in 270 FOW. Trolled to 320. Nothing. trolled back to 240 and the caught the fish. Trolled at that depth for quite some time after that and caught nothing. Trolled back to about 100 FOW, and nothing. Never saw a fish or bait on the screen. Quit at 1100. There was a boat at cleaning station and they went 11 for 23. Said many were shakers but they did have some nice ones. They said they caught them around 225 to 250. I'm disappointed in the wave forecast, which was totally wrong, as well as the fishing today. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I have a lowrance hds 7. I can't anything at all after I crank the big motor. Screen goes to nothing but noise, interference. And my engine is not even connected to the battery that powers my fish finder. The Motor is connected to it's own dedicated battery! I wish I could see fish when cruising around. Maybe if I turn the sensitivity down it will help. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Once you do get it working, and you see the ball, be aware that if the ball disappears you may have a small fish on. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Ok but the picture doesn't show the back end of the dipsey. So does the mono to the lure not connect to the back of the dipsey? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. I use the break away Cable that came with the fishhawk. Should I be concerned about using it? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I was off Olcott June 1. Never saw any bait. Caught one nice King in 150 fow. I went all the way out to 300 fow and back in. Saw stable temps never saw an area of warmer water. I got out about 8 am and only fished a couple hours. My main objective was to check out my boat after the Transom Replacement. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I agree with HB2, it's not rocket science, and its not difficult to put in a floating dock. Blue Barrels, Rochester Container place, $20 each. And some wood. What the hell is wrong with these dock owners? I could do it myself, as I always do everything myself. I just don't get it.
  20. Finally done. Here are some pictures of the inside pieces reattached. I used plywood strips and covered the plywood in fiberglass to reattach them. I used countersunk screws to secure it while it hardened. Then, I used fiberglass Bondo to cover the cut lines. I just have to install the floor panel and the rear door/floor. Thank God this project that started may 8 and took until May 27 is Done. I'm guessing the cost was between 1500- 2000. But I did add a few improvements: third battery, new wires, new fuse panel. 21. My FF is mounted on the dash, under the Bimini top, so sun is not an issue. I mounted my fish hawk back near the downriggers since I am looking back to the rods all the time anyways. I used the mounts they came with. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. That's why when I just did the transom on my Grady, I installed a 3rd cranking battery, connected only to the big motor starter. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Be careful Bob.my Grady Transom is done. Just finishing up the odds and ends. Hopefully I will get out Monday. But doubtful. For sure next weekend. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Productive couple of days. I got the Transom glassed in. Next day I made the floor stringers and floor pieces I had cut out. Today, I glassed in the floor stringers and floor. The Lynn Marie is now structurally sound once again!. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Before I glued the plywood to the transom, I cut out the 1708 fiberglass to shape. Two layers. One extends 6 inches past the edges. The second extends 9 inches past. I also cut out 45/45 biaxial clothe to tab in the edges of the plywood, before laying on the 1708.
