Mine are older they were made by anglers choice. I used to be a manufacturer rep for them in the early 90's and had a few sets of them around left over. I am on my last set and I have to do a repair to one of them right now. But any ones work. Biggest trick is to hook them close to the bow, always run one on each side so the boat tracks straight. And keep a rear line on them that is fairly tight. That is what keeps them from wondering under the boat , or off to the side. I have mine set so they are just a little past half way back my boat foot when they are in the water. And the back line is hooked to the rear cleat, it keeps the tension on them and it makes them easy to lift out of the water. The rear rope attachment is what let loose on mine I put a couple pics of how they hang and the one that's blown up I am fixing Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

That's what I run . I have a 19 foot boat and run bags all the time. And yes my i pilot does just fine. The bags to me make the boat handle better I run mine even in to the wind just speed motor up . It helps you have more control. I drive all the time with only my trolling motor and it does a great job. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Check the adjustment on the shift linkage..If it's going all the way in forward gear, and you have nothing then you have a lower unit gear problem. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

You can get by the dredge no problem. And the state launch is still open and not charging for the rest of the year starting 9/20. Also casting is not that effected by the dredge they only work during the day and they can't be every where. Pick the side they are not working on and fish. It needed to be dredged how do they do that and keep everyone happy? Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Best affordable wire diver rod is the eagle claw 10 diver rod. I fish alot alone and no problem to handle solo .. they are soft very forgiving ..and they are not to expensive ..add a twilly tip and your set for life. I have a pair from the 80's I finally retired them bc the foam handles were falling apart from the rod holders. The new ones have a harder plastic behind the reel seat, makes then come out of rod holders easier, and they will last for ever. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Way back I had problems with one type of cannon ball swimming like that. I loved them because they were a slim ball type.. I used walker releases and they did it them I used pinch pads attached to the ball and they did not ... So my fix was a small piece of parachute cord tired to the tail fin where the pinch pad release would go. It stopped it and I went back to my walker releases with no problem. If you love the weights maybe try that and see if it fixes yours too. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Any tips for Spring Kings on the Niagara Bar?
bluegiller replied to Burger's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Biggest trick that time of year is the water is not set up ..so spread it out..short cores to riggers divers , cover water you.will catch fish on deepest set and on the highest line. Info best on spoons but also get fish on deep diving sticks on boards and always toss a flasher fly in the mix. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
I have only seen one salmon on the scale over 40 and I used to weigh fish for the ESLO from 86 to 90. I know that's a short time but been fishing salmon since 77. The one I saw over 40 was an old couple named John and his wife Rita they were from down near jamestown and they came every fall for a month to troll in Oak Orchard for salmon. They caught it on a Pink Ping a tee lure right by way was the three bridges. I was fishing that day and had stopped at what was Hatch and Elam's just to shoot the **** like I did all the time since I was good friends with the owners. They brought the fish in and Chris Elam put it on the scale I forgot exactly what it was but it was mid 40's. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Never did it with j-pligs but use to run 2 kwik fish in the river sometimes. Would take hooks off first one and then tie a 8 inch pcs of line from first split ring to second one with the hooks. It would work pretty good some days and sometime I would get a bunch of hits that I missed. You also had to run that really slow, because they really wobbled all over the place Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I believe the handles from the 47h and 47sh fit the 47lc. The newer sg47lc's do not. The drive gear and shaft I believe are the same on those older reels so the handles even if they don't look the same should work. I used to work on those older ones alot, and if my memory is correct that might help you in finding use ones on ebay. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Also if the wheel has play that's bad. Most can be tightened up with the hub nut. Just don't over tighten it. Then spin it if it feels smooth freeze it up and tow away. I have put a lot of miles on trailer bearings, and have had to change a few. Another way to know if they are going bad is feel them right after you tow it a ways if they are more than just warm there time is up.
