  1. Just in case you've decided to go with a closed-faced spin cast reel just wanted you to know I have 4 brand new small Zebco 33 reels that were never used, but they have been out in my pole barn and are very dirty on the outside and probably need new line as it's been on the reels for a long time. But you can have them for 10.00 each, but if you buy 2 or more, I will ship for free. I'm not trying to make anything off of them, but want something out of brand new 33 reels and for the trouble of going down to my pole barn and digging them out, finding a shipping box, and making a trip to the post office to ship them at my cost.
  2. And just why do you expect us to believe it????????????, LOL just kidding. If you get enough braid on your reel, even though it's a lower-case reel, it will surprise you. I had bought some of the Shimano bait runner 200 reels. when i wen t to FL i spooled it with 40# braid then used it for fishing the Intracoastal around the FT Pierce bridge for black drum and redfish, and it brought in some hard-fighting fish. When I would hook a good fish off the side of the boat, it spent most of the fight under the boat with the end of my rod about 1 to 1.5 feet under the water, and I did upgrade to the 300, and they are all in working condition. But a couple of them could use a cleaning and new lube. AND I LOVED YOUR STORY!!
  3. i was at the pawn shop looking for some spin cast reels and rods for my granddaughters. They had a bunch of them standing up, leaning up against the counter, and it said choice 1.00, and I just bought them all about 10 or 12 rigs. Some looked brand new, and I got 3 of them ready and took them fishing at a friend's pond. That was all the youngest one wanted. The oldest one still fishes with me, but the 3rd time I took her fishing in TN at another farm pond, my nephew had permission to fish, her reel got tangled under the spool, and after getting it going i gave her a spinning rig and have never looked back. But even now, if she gets a tangle bigger than she is, Grandpa goes to work on it, LOL
  4. The medium action rod is a good rod for almost everything. It's not too limber but will bend enough to prevent it from breaking. If I'm not mistaken i think the line rating is 4# to 20# line. They are a favorite for fishing panfish, but a great bass and walleye rod. But giving it more thought with a rod that short i might be inclined to get a light action. I just believe that would make a much better rod for the young man. And I have a few light actions that I use for bass fishing with plastic worms. They have enough flex to give me time to drop my rod, giving the fish slack so it will take the worm inside its mouth, then set the hook, but still have enough backbone to get a bass in.
  5. Now that is funny, but it may be true!!
  6. My best suggestion is the medium action GX2 ugly stick. They are the best rods I've used so far, and I'm 74 until May.
  7. Braggard, LOL! Just kidding around. And kudos to you for spending so much time fishing with him. And I loved your picture memories for him.
  8. Did you think to ask just how many you could buy at one time? Do they make different color and size spoons, or do you want 100 of the same spoon? About 25 years fishing on Lake Michigan and found a small crankbait that caught Coho in the spring. I had a friend who was the hardware manager and bought stuff for me at a discount if I bought enough of them. We had been buying a few at a time and were getting a little too costly, even when we bought a few of each color. They were called Great Lakes Crankbaits, and I liked 4 colors, so I asked what he could get me 200 hundred at a good price. A couple of days later, he gave me a price of 250.00 for each hundred. I had him order them for 500.00 plus tax.
  9. Usually, it will say you have a message. And on the top right of the homepage, there is an envelope that you click on, which will show your recent messages. Then, click on that message, and it will take you to the message. And I think the other image is a bell or something showing information like other posts on threads you posted on. And it will also show that you got a message from whoever.
  10. I'm in the same boat. I love the cooler, though the 2lid cooler would work great for our walleye fishing on Lake Erie.
  11. Daiwa Sealines have been bulletproof for me for many years. I'm still running the newer sglc3b reels with no problems in 3 years. But the last time I gave in and replaced the real old lca reels, so I switched to the Okuma Coldwater reels, and I love them. After 2 years, they are smoother than many reels I've used, and the drags are great so far, but I haven't used them long enough to know if they are dependable or not.
  12. In my unprofessional opinion, it's not a good idea. I would keep looking for one with a 20" shaft. I think it would be hard to dial in with an extra 5"s of shaft. But to each his own, and I can't think of a reason it wouldn't work, but it's just a lot of extra work and worry when a 20" shaft would have worked when mounted.
  13. Bottom line is i feel you pain and distrust of other people.
  14. I know this is a bit off point and a little bit of stealing his thread, and I'm sorry for both. but about 3 years ago, my pole barn was broken into then about 6 months it happened again. The 1st time, i couldn't find out for sure who did it, and they cleaned me out for a few thousand in tools, my trolling gear for Lake Erie's central basin. The second time, they took almost everything of any value. I had just replaced all my rods and reels for trolling, and those were stolen again, all my saltwater gear rods, reels, my Sabiki bait catching rigs, plus a full tackle box of 3, 4, 5, ox no roll sinkers, and 2 other boxes of barrel sinkers, 1/2 oz to 5 oz, plus all the baits i had, my almost new Hobart welder that had been used
  15. If you still have the 3 rods, I want them and need them shipped!
  16. GOOD DEAL, I always try to help where I can!
  17. I believe I saw a listing on here for a large cooler. Try searching for a large cooler and see if you find it.
  18. Yeah, he was asking 30.00 for the 330 and 24.00 for the 320,s. I thought that was a great price for them.
  19. I find it hard to believe it took so long for these to sell at the prices you had on them. They want more than that for old, worn-out reels on eBay. Go figure, lol.
  20. wallysacket has 2 for sale for 130.00, with the top cap missing on one of them.
  21. I may have 2 or 3 clamps I had for my Penn GTI reels, I don't use any more, as I had to give up saltwater fishing for grouper. I have no idea if these will work for you, so how much are you willing to pay if I go down to the pole barn and round them up? Or I will sell you the like-new and only been used for a couple of weeks for grouper and only caught a few smaller ones, Penn GTI 330, or I have one like-new GTI 345 and another one that feels like it needs a little oil or grease, but works great like it is. And I'm sure a couple of the 330 reels have never caught a fish. If you pay shipping, I'll take $65.00 each for the 330 reels with clamps, and on the 345 reels, the like-new one is $65.00, and the used, but working good but you can feel it when cranking it in, I'll do 50.00 I have PayPal and Cash App if you pay the fees. You can pay friends and family or add the cost of the fees and pay for goods if that makes you feel safer. MESSAGE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I have about 8 or 10 transducers I'm not using at the time, but I'm not sure of the frequency of any of them. I know a few are 80/200, but I'm not sure which ones. I guess I could go to the website and check the numbers on them. If you are a gambling man and want to pay the shipping to get it and test it to see if it works, then pay me $100.00 for it, and if it doesn't work, ship it back to me. I have PayPal or Cash App, but you have to pay friends and family.
  23. I have to agree, so try a different transducer, and that way you will know if that's your problem.
  24. If the sale on the 36" falls through, I will buy them!
  25. I replaced my latches with SS latches, so I have no more worries about them going bad, FYI. I would buy your and replace the latches with the SS for a few more bucks, but I live in east central IN and it's just too far to drive, LOL.
