  1. I feel your disgust on this. a few years back a young woman we were letting live with us that we took in when she was 15 to get her away from a drunken mother and an unsafe environment. She had a boyfriend who was a roofer that was laid off in the fall. so being soft hearted we let him stay with us because it was cold weather and he had no other place to go. we made a fishing trip to Erie and some people either him or my youngest son let stay in my camper broke into my pole barn and took several thousand of dollars of things. some of the items I had gathered over the last 40+ years. they took a lot of my fishing gear tools and whatnots. I replaced a lot of the things they took. then about a year later after I had run her boyfriend off we made a trip to TN for our family reunion on Memorial weekend. we left our youngest son at home and told him that no one was to be there. we got home and I had been cleaned out. I don't know for sure what happened but both of her x-boyfriends had been there and my drug addict son let them stay. then my son and the woman had broke into our bedroom and gave them access to the remote for the pole barn. they knew I had installed cameras in my barn so they had went into my basement and turned off the power. then they proceeded to take everything that was loose. my welder I had for a few years and had only been used 2 or 3 times and a brand new Champion Generator most of my saltwater fishing gear including a big box of 3, 4, and 4 oz flat no roll sinkers, a box filled with Sabiki bait rigs. They stole so much freshwater gear that I could never replace, a box full of bass magnets, and cranking craws. I had been gathering for over 40 years, and all my hot n tots, plus many other cranks, I had 2 of the large spoon boxes full of spoons most were stinger scorp spoons, but what really pissed me off the most of the things they took out of my barn was they took my high five prop for my boat and my vhf radio out of the boat. there were so many other things they took. the heartbreaking part was my mom gave me a silver dollar key ring with an old silver dollar in it for Christmas the year I got out of the Marine Corps and just a few days before she died. it was the last thing she would ever give me and I cherished it with all my heart. I couldn't do crap even though I knew who did it because I didn't have any proof. the police was a waste of time. they didn't even dust for prints or anything else. I did find a slip where 1 of them pawned some of my fishing gear but I had no way to prove it was even mine. one cop took an interest in my problem and let me describe the gear in the pawnshop by memory and that got him arrested but he and his girlfriend both swore my son had given it to him and got off scot-free. but I did get a few rods and reels back from the pawn shop. I have my gear for Erie and enough freshwater gear for me and my granddaughter who fishes with me. at one time I had enough gear for 4 people. I have replaced enough saltwater rods and reels to fish saltwater but not the no roll sinkers or baits or bimini bait rigs. I had several light rods for pan fish, bass gear, salmon gear, plus just my everyday gear. now I'm happy to have enough to get by.
  2. I can't believe someone hasn't jumped on your offer. if I was even thinking about trying boards.
  3. you need to use a release that attaches above the weight. i used pancake weight for years, started with 13# but moved to 12# because the 13# kept kicking the breaker on one of my riggers. but I always bent the tail so they would run to the outside of my boat. make sure you put them on right the next time out.
  4. put it in my mail box last night should be on its way.
  5. I will have it in the mail later today or tomorrow for sure.
  6. I have an ICOM radio in my boat but it has built in GPS and recorded it at boatus. but any of the newer radios should serve your purpose. but spend the money you save on a good antenna. the radio is only as good as the antenna you use. I use the Shakespeare 5225 which is a great antenna. DO NOT DEPEND ON ANY HANDHELD TO SAVE YOUR LIFE. AT BEST THEY ARE ONLY GOOD FOR TALKING AROUND THE MARINA, BUT NOT WORTH CRAP OUT ON THE BIG LAKE. P.S. Hook your radio through your GPS or do what I did and get one with built in GPS and register it then in an emergency you just hit the button and the Coast Guard knows everything about your boat and you need help and where you are located.
  7. so if I send you a check for 83.40 you'll sell it to me? I will need you to message me your address and I'll get it in the mail.
  8. sorry, but it would cost me more in gas than a new one would cost. I live in MuncieIN 47302 and have no problem paying for shipping. I could mail you a check for the 65.00 plus the cost of shipping. please message me.
  9. if it's what you want I may have something that will work for a lot of spoons. I sent a pm with the info but you can have it for the cost of shipping.
  10. if you still have this and you'll let me pay with PayPal I will buy it and add an extra 5.00 to cover PP fees and shipping. please message me and tell me something.
  11. I started to buy one of these a couple of years ago as I thought it was the only way to troll with a kicker. I still feel a kicker AP would be a dream come true for anyone who uses a kicker for trolling if they have enough money for it. I am not engineer minded and getting it to work on my 2000 Merc 9.9 four stroke might be too much for me. make sure it will work on your motor or if you think you can engineer something so it will work. too much of an investment for something I may never get to work on my motor.
  12. I bought 4 of them and 1 wouldn't crank. I contacted them and sent it in and they took care of me. What I do a lot of the time at Amazon is see if they have used one. when I get them they are always brand new or I can't tell they are used. usually, the packaging is damaged but not the item. it's a great way to save money.
  13. dropped off the check in the drop box at the post office last night. should be on its way. looking forward to getting the weights.
  14. if I don't get sidetracked it will be in the mail shortly. my wife did the check earlier and I'm getting ready to address the envelope now.
  15. I just now read your message. I will get a check in the mail tomorrow or Sat at the latest. thanks.
  16. do you know if it would work on an 89 350 Mercruiser v8?
  17. it won't work on my old 2000 Merc 9.9 4 stroke as I believe a 2005 is as far back for it to work.
  18. I sent my address in a PM and included my email and PayPal info. you can mark these sold unless I die, LOL. but at 73 you never know.
  19. I'm not sure what you mean about wet manifolds. but I'm not up on everything, I thought all small block Mercruiser manifolds were wet. but all mine were older motors. for information try Google for reviews for those manifolds. you might try checking on eBay for that brand manifold and see if they have any reviews plus you can get prices if they are listed. the only manifolds I ever had to replace I just did a search for 350 Mercruiser exhaust manifolds. I found a set of new ones at the right price and after 16 years are still on my motor.
  20. how do you want paid? I can pay friends and family or I can mail a check. but I do want to get 2 10# dredge weights. these are by far the best weights I have ever used. I was using 12# pancake weights but forgot them one trip. found 2 8# dredge weights on the new tous boat and started using them. To my amazement, they had less blowback than the 12# pancake weights. now I want to try a set of 10 # weights but still go lighter than the 12# or 13# pancake weights I had been using. message sent.
  21. Compared to the prices I found on Amazon and eBay it's priced better than what I found, except Amazon has one with a trolling motor transducer for 449.00 then add 200.00 for a good transducer, and it's as much but it won't be helping out a fellow fisherman. he may even come down a little but he'll never sell it for the lowball offers.
  22. if the cannon tracks are still available and you're willing to ship at my expense I want them. I can pay with PayPal or mail a check.
  23. I might be interested in 2 of your 10# dredge weights if they are indeed dredge weights. what is your price for 2 weights and the shipping cost?
  24. I have one of those boxes that someone can have but it's going to cost 30+ dollars for shipping. I live in Muncie IN so pickup is optional. I only used it a short time about 30 years ago and it's just been sitting in the pole barn. not sure if it's still strong but it should be good to go. and a huge KUDO to the OP. I have gave a few things to guys just starting out. my old marine radio, a couple of fish finders. but it's always came back to me in a big way.
