Seneca Sonar Test Facility

Can anyone tell me how deep the cables are that move the sonar test facility?

Depth at the navy barge is around 520-540ft I believe. Give or take. Cables I had heard were recently being replaced or already had been.

Wish they still had the 30 Sutton 44's that I donated years ago Mike. I believe the barge itself is in exactly 500 ft with the cables stretching outward to a little greater depth Years ago I talked with one of the workers about it. When they are testing he said the sonar would be influenced by the motor noise of my (at the time) 4 horse kicker for about four miles or more and he requested I shut it down at the time.

I was sure hoping for a piece of cable when they replaced it as a souvenir Les. I can’t imagine how many rigs are tied up on them. I remember as a kid going out and marking the bottom and seeing if the myth was true of fish the size of cars being down there lol
