I use an app called Windfinder.  It has some cool features but like anything else out there is giving you an estimate for future dates/times.  I have found it to be pretty good at giving me an idea of what's going to happen throughout the day.  Interested in what other folks have to say on this.

There’s a free app called Marine Traffic that feeds AIS data in real time from the big ships….you can scroll though all sorts of stuff about the freighters including on board wind, wind direction and temp updated by the minute, gives a great snapshot of what’s going on out there as long as there’s a ship near where you want to fish….and there usually is!

We use the iWindSurf app.  Like everything else weather related, it is a piece of info.

Been using ventusky for a long time. To avoid paying for the app, I use and bookmarked the website www.ventusky.com.
