i'll be fishing, but fishing tournaments like this shouldn't be a thing, imo

12. Any winner may be required to take a Polygraph Test and must produce a valid N.Y. State Fishing License.

okay. its not like its improbable for someone isn't just going to roll up to ontario and catch a fish and bring it back to senaca, should be using apps for weigh ins at least

Not to say thats never happened or couldnt happen, because it could… but the probability of that happening is very low, like less than 5% probable. Most fisherman dont cheat. The ones that deliberately set out to cheat their way to a payday have to catch the winner on another lake. Which isnt as easy as most people think. 10+ lb Lakers/Browns/Rainbows/LL dont just jump into your boat on Lake O, or Cayuga or Canandaigua.

We are headed down today to get ready, this weather the past week has been terrible. I know numbers for this tournament are down, and a big culprit is Sampson. In the past, we pulled in and every site has a boat, groups are talking and party till the sun comes up.

This has changed. When we arrived last year, we might have seen 10 boats total. Sampson changing the rules stating you cant have a boat at the campsite really killed it. I dont mind keeping our rig in the parking lot, but I know majority of owners are worried about damage and or theft. You rarely can get a boat slip, and if you do you are paying an arm and leg, plus still worried about theft.

Fishing is fishing, it never truly is easy. Yes this lake use to produce 20+ fish a day, but its fun to use our tactics to catch them nowadays. The weather the past week will also make this weekend interesting, time to chase some water temperatures! I hope one day the DEC will step in and help fix this issue.

Good luck this weekend folks, stay safe!

My prediction: 12.8 Laker out of Geneva will take the crown with a Landlock closely behind out of Watkins.

I am not in the derby but I will be out tomorrow. Haven’t fished Seneca since the mid 80’s.

Three fish this morning. In for breakfast. Preference for spoons. Nothing on cowbells.

In for lunch at noon. Three more lakers but nothing over 6 lbs. Figured out the cowbells. They wanted a jointed stickbait behind the bells. Wouldn’t touch a spin glow.

They seem to like a nice silver color, atleast from what we have seen today. Fished from 40-100 FOW, best and consistent hits where at 80 fow 35 down
