Does anyone have experience and or comments on using active sonar for jigging in 90+/- feet of water for trout? Currently running Lowrance Ti2 which works ok if dialed in for this but would like to be able to look around then move with trolling motor, or even cast and let fall?  IDK.  Thinking of Lowrance active 2, but not married to any brand. Suggestions welcome.  We typically fish out of deans..

Yesterday on The Next Bite which was on the Discovery Channel ( if you have cable you should be able to look back on it) The show was on inland lake Laker fishing with forward facing sonar. It seemed informative and looked like a lot of fun.

A Garmin PS30 transducer might be a good option, I believe it has a 120 degree cone and provides live (albeit "blobs") images.  Videos available on youtube.
