Good morning! Im new to salmon/trout fishing on Lake Ontario. I’ve been fishing out of Sandy lately, and the bite has not been great. Been marking fish, but hardly any takers. I’ve been hearing about  great coho action by the Niagara bar. Does anyone know how long the coho will be in that area? I will make the trip to find the action, I just don’t want to drive all that way if I’ve missed the right time to be there. Thanks!

Great question. We just arrived in Olcott for 2 weeks and we are looking for a starting point as well.

Any recent reports?

Thanks, Dan

Coho is unpredictable and quite capable of cruising more than a few miles a day. But if you catch one, circle around where you caught it , because they seldom come alone.

Lots of marks today but they were fussy for sure. Eight out of ten fish cleaned had empty stomachs.
