Hi Everyone, names Marty. I'm a new member here and still navigating the site so bear with me.

I had a question and was looking for feedback as to what everyone would do for an out of state angler looking for cost effective storage options.

I live in Northern Vt, and haul my boat out to Lake O every year. Stupidly, I downsized my pickup a few months ago to a half ton Ford and it struggles to pull my boat and tri axle trailer (29 foot Bertram).

I have two options: the cost effective way would be to pay about $600-800 per year to put it in storage, then throw a local boy a few hundred bucks to tow it to the nearest launch and put it in for me. Problem is, I dont know anyone local to Oswego, or where to even begin looking for someone who would do that. A boat transportation service isn't going to come out there and haul a boat 5 miles just to put it in the water, then come back to take it out two weeks later.

Second option is to go full service marina with winter storage, launch and haul out, with a summer slip. Problem there is every marina ive priced out is between 3-5k. I also don't see the need to take up a slip for the entire summer when I'm only there fishing for about 10 days out of the year.

What would you all do in this situation? Any ideas you have that I may not have thought of, or know of any marinas from around Mexico Bay that are full service for less than 3k a year?

Thanks a bunch!

I have not been in the Oswego area for years but I would think that some marina or more likely a boat dealer would be able to accomplish that transit trip for you twice a year for a short haul like that.  I know that other boat dealers in other areas do that sort of thing.   Some even offer yard storage in their fenced in area.

Hopefully someone more familiar responds to your post.

Give Salmon Country a call. They have their own little launch right by where you would keep your boat. I kept my boat there for a few years. I did the same thing you're looking to do.

Salmon Country would be perfect, love the area. I called about two weeks ago and they said they'd get back to me on pricing, but never did. I emailed them as well with no response, so I've kind of moved on
